Purchase Chestatee gear with your tokens later in the year. At each meeting, we will have a raffle. One lucky family will win a gift card at each family night. School funds provide these opportunities! Lets see what you know! What does Title I mean? A. The school has a Title. It is 1. B. The school gets money to spend however it wishes. C. The school receives federal funds to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards. Title I Part A is a part of the No Child Left Behind Act of 2001 (NCLB). This act provides federal funds through the Georgia Department of Education to local educational agencies and public schools with high numbers or percentages of students from low income families to help ensure that all children meet challenging state academic content and student academic achievement standards. True or False? Chestatee Elementary is a Title I School. Chestatee is a Title I School. We have no designation other than our Title I Status. Forsyth County Schools is designated as a Reward Title I District. Title I Schools can be designated priority or focus schools when student achievement is low. Funds are provided to schools based on the number of students qualifying for the free/reduced price lunch program. True or False? Being a Title I school benefits all students at the school, not just those who qualify for Title I services. Chestatee Elementary is now Schoolwide Title I. We have reached this status through our Free and Reduced Lunch population reaching 49%. All students can use the resources provided with Title I funding. Students are still identified and served by a multiple criteria survey. The most academically challenged students receive services in additional small groups. Support teachers are pushing into classes as much as possible. Teachers pull out of the classroom when scheduling is an issue. True or False? Our school has a parent involvement coordinator and a parent resource room to help families with academic success. You are welcome any time in the parent resource room and can check out materials and fun games to help your child at home. Our parent involvement coordinator does not have to be in there for you to checkout materials. Parent Resource Room 302 Hours: Monday Friday: 7:00 AM- 3:30 PM Extended hours on Tuesdays and Thursdays for student/ parent math help with Mr. Ahrens. Check out manipulatives, games, flash cards, books, workbooks. We have parenting materials such as workbooks, books, and videos. You can use the school computers to access our website, ITS Learning, Infinite Campus, and Rosetta Stone. Funds are used to provide students additional segments of reading and/or math instruction by a highly qualified, certified teacher, support materials in reading and/or math, after school learning and tutoring programs, transportation home from after school programs and transportation during summer school. Funds are also used to promote parental involvement through an active parent involvement program. We encourage you to ask questions as you learn more about Title I at each table. We will rotate through 3 tables for about 10 minutes each. Mrs. Stanford will let us know when it is time to switch tables, and we will move clockwise. After you rotate through the 3 tables, we will come back as a whole group to address the procedures for concerns. True or False? If I have a concern, I should talk to the teacher first. If Im still concerned, I should go straight to Mrs. Tennies.
