If we learn to listen to our bodies, we can work with these natural rhythms instead of fighting them.

We can make more efficient use of our time by scheduling certain activities at certain times of the day.

JEE and board exams are during 9-12 and 2-5 ; maximize yourself during that period and totally stop night study when exams approaches.

Page 8: Time management

Short term memory tasks such as last minute reviewing for tests are best performed early in the morning.

Page 9: Time management

Cognitive, or mental, tasks such as reading, calculating, and problem solving are performed most efficiently in the morning.

Page 10: Time management

Longer term Memory tasks such as memorizing formulas and chemistry equations for application are best performed in the afternoon.

Page 11: Time management

You are most efficient at tasks involving the use of your hands such as repetition exercise of inorganic reactions in the afternoon and early evening.

We procrastinate because we fear FAILURE. It is easier to accept that we failed because we didn’t even attempt a task than to fail at doing the task and remember in these preparation years ‘jo choot gaya wo choot hi jata hai’. You can’t afford looking back.

Page 17: Time management

We procrastinate because we have our own PREFERENCE to quench Some students have a very strong fascination for a particular subject which makes them postpone their other subject’s work. This likely affects their overall preparation.

Page 18: Time management

Go through previous years papers and you will see how questions from some of your uninteresting topics make you loose your valuable marks.

Page 19: Time management

We procrastinate because some tasks seem too lengthy or too difficult

Divide a lengthy task into smaller, shorter parts that seem easier to complete

Divide a forty page chapter into 10 page sections

Channelize after completing all sections.

Mocks your efficiency Two clocks viz. actual and believed Stop both for planned break….things

like nap, listening to instrumental music etc

Stop the actual clock for non-productive works.

You could also make note of your non-productive tasks;this would help in eradicating them

Page 22: Time management

Avoid listening to music of any kind while studying , not even when you are solving mathematics

Though you can use instrumental music as stress busters in your leisure period

A planner helps you:

• See the big picture• Plan ahead to avoid last ditch

efforts• Be time efficient• You exactly know what you

have done so far• You know when to put in that

extra effort

Page 25: Time management
Page 26: Time management

Examine your schedule. Be realistic about what

you can accomplish. Don’t try to juggle too

many things. Don’t set yourself up for

failure. You’ll fail many times

but remember whenever you are beaten down get up as fast as you can,no matter how many times you need to do it

Page 27: Time management

Full time student spends 6-8 hours in class per day.

Utilize these time effectively. Minimize your non-productive chats. Try to gain at least 2 hours from

schools cause you’ll later realize those bits of effort do count.

SCHOOL IS A FULL TIME JOB!

Page 28: Time management

Ought to use them only for gaining knowledge and nothing else

Avoid making groups in tuitions which have no connection with the subject

Avoid free roams after classes…..they not only waste your time but also robs you of your energy

Page 29: Time management

We can’t have 100% attention in class. So the sooner you revise, the better you

retain.

Sometimes we just don’t realize how much time we spent in non productive ways.

Here are some examples of leisure: Bunking Tuitions Listening to Music Watching tv Daydreaming Facebook

What others can you think of?

Page 31: Time management

An addiction and weakness of many students

But who says we can’t exploit it

Use it as a refreshment but obviously in moderate amount;say half an hour a day

Use reminders to avoid breachment of allotted time

Use it in a constructive way;we’ve got our FB page as “IITians for youth” and there are many more to exploit for your knowledge

Page 32: Time management

Here are the 6 Main Points to remind you how to

Manage Your Time

Page 33: Time management

An important part of making these strategies work is the daily reminder.

Take the time to place each of these seven Post-its in conspicuous places such as your alarm clock, refrigerator, television, and bathroom mirror to serve as a constant reminder.
