Fellow Timber Measurements Society Members or anyone with an interest in log scaling, timber cruising and related areas, You are invited to attend the 2018 meeting of the Timber Measurement Society (TMS), which will take place at the Coeur d’Alene Resort in Coeur d’Alene, Idaho, April 4-6, 2018 (Wednesday through Friday). The conference segment will occur on 4-5 April with some a field trip on 6 April. We will have a field trip on April 6 to the Idaho Forest Group mill in Chilco, Idaho (20 minutes by car north of the meeting venue, off of Highway 95). The field trip will include a mill tour and for those interested, a log rollout where participants can learn about and do some log scaling. Those who plan on attending the field trip should try to bring a hard-hat, high visibility vest and safety glasses and must have boots that cover the ankle. Please make your reservations at the Coeur d’Alene Resort by calling 1-800-688-5253. The Coeur d’Alene has agreed to give us a nightly rate of $109 for North Wing $129 for a Park Tower and $149 for a Lake Tower room. The cut-off date for the block of rooms and special rate is February 23, 2018, or until there are no more rooms left, so please don’t wait too long to make your reservations and be sure to tell them that you are with the Timber Measurements Society.
