    A Note to you,

Camp started on June 6 week with 83 campers from Sugar Creek Baptist in Ohio. On June 13 week,

Ewing Baptist Church arrived with 144 campers. This is the most that both groups have ever brought. Bothgroups really like the camp and have reserved the two weeks next year. Boys week started this week, June 20,and we are looking forward to a great camping season in our association.

The first ever youth hymn sing held on June 10 at Friendship Baptist in Irving was a success. We had 8

churches send young people to perform and had 103 in attendance. There are some very talented young people in

our churches. Due to the success of the hymn sing we are planning one in each area next year. Its almost Missions Fest time again. This year it will be held in the Pineville/Middlesboro area on

September 10-17, 2011. To register go online at wmu.com/trips or call 205-991-4097. Go Metro USA is

Kentucky Baptists taking Christ to the cities. Your church can work with other Kentucky Baptists in churchplanting in the big cities of our country. Call the association office for more information or go online to

www.kybaptist.org/gometro. Are you and your church involved in some type of mission? If not, here are two

    opportunities.

    Food for Thought:

Dr. A.W. Tozer wrote this: One thing taught large in the Holy Scriptures is that while God gives His giftsfreely, He will require a strict accounting of them at the end of the road. Each man is personally responsible forhis store, be it large or small, and will be required to explain his use of it before the judgment seat of Christ. . . .

First, there is time. None of us has much of it. The crow that flaps across the meadow will probably live

longer than the oldest one of us. The tree that shades the sleepy cow in the pasture may have looked down on ourgrandfather when he was a boy, and it may remain to watch the passing of our childrens children. And that wehave so small a store of time constitutes a powerful reason for our making the most of what we have.

Yet how many hours have we spent doing nothing or doing the wrong thing. Our cynical waste of pre-cious time could be a reason for our not having more of it given to us, who knows? Jesus once said, Gather upthe fragments that remain, that nothing be lost. Time wasted is lost beyond recall. While we sympathize with theemotional content of the old song, Backward, turn backward, O time, in your flight, it is yet hard to conceiveof a more futile appeal. Time does not run backward. The old man does not become young, the young manbecomes old. So it has always been and so it will ever be. The bird of time flies past us and is gone; the leaves of

life keep falling one by one, the wine of life keeps oozing drop by drop. We must work while it is called today.

    Yours in Christ,Bro. John
