Product Overview

TIBCO Mainframe WebUI is an out-of-the-box lightweight, agile, and user-friendly component thatadds value and insight to your mainframe and TIBCO mainframe integrations.

The product’s capabilities include viewing of information, management, administration, configuration,and deployment of z/OS mainframe integration products.

Currently, TIBCO Mainframe WebUI supports the following functions:

● Operationally interacting with the Substation ES Administration interface● Viewing information published by TIBCO Mainframe Service Tracker by the following categories:

— z/OS Jobs completion data— Alerts and events from the TIBCO products and user-enabled applications— Subscription information of z/OS SYSLOG

● Viewing of information, management, administration, configuration, and deployment of z/OSmainframe integration products from iPad device.

● Supporting workspaces to store different configurations.

ArchitectureThe following figure shows a complete enterprise view of the possible deployments in which you canuse TIBCO Mainframe WebUI.

Enterprises use Mainframe WebUI from multiple workstations. Planning the related deployment andimplementation requires some consideration. For example, you can install Mainframe WebUI and its

associated services on a server, then run the lightweight and agile UI component on multiple browsersand across multiple workstations.

Starting Mainframe WebUI

After installing TIBCO Mainframe WebUI, you have several ways to start it.

● Starting Mainframe WebUI Locally● Starting Mainframe WebUI Remotely

Result

After starting Mainframe WebUI successfully, the initial startup page is displayed.

Starting Mainframe WebUI LocallyIf you do not run a remote Tomcat server, you can start Mainframe WebUI locally.

Procedure

1. From the Start menu in Windows, select All Programs > TIBCO > TIBCO Mainframe WebUI 2.0 >Start Tomcat.A terminal window is displayed along with an output that shows that the Tomcat server is running.

2. From the Start menu, select All Programs > TIBCO > TIBCO Mainframe WebUI 2.0 > StartBrowser. Or you can open a Web browser and go to http://localhost:port number/MF_WebUI.port number is the one you specified when you installed the product.

See the readme file for more details regarding supported web browsers and versions.

Starting Mainframe WebUI RemotelyIf you run a remote Tomcat server, you need to start Mainframe WebUI remotely.

Procedure

● Open a Web browser and go to http://host:port number/MF_WebUI.host is the name or IP address of the machine on which the Tomcat server is running. port number isthe one you specified when you installed the product.

Signing in

The sign-in users have extra access to Configure page , Deploy page , Define page and Access page.

Procedure

1. On the Mainframe WebUI startup page, click SIGN IN, which is in the upper-right corner of thepage.

2. Provide a user name in the Username field and a password in the Password field.

3. Click Sign In.

If you do not have a user name or password, click Contact master to request one. You canuse the master account to sign in by default. The user name is master and the password ismaster.

4. Select a workspace from the list next to the ABOUT button.The default workspaces in Mainframe WebUI are CICS_EMS and CICS_RV.

Result

After signing-in, the following page is displayed.

Manage

You can use the Manage page to manage connections to TIBCO Substation ES through TIBCOMainframe WebUI.

● You can use the Manage – Connectivity page to add a new connectivity, or delete, update and storethe existing connectivity information.

● You can use the Manage – Connect page to establish connections to TIBCO Substation ES.● You can use the Manage – Console page to run the Substation ES operational commands.● You can use the Manage - Real Time page to see the monitor views of the available connections.

Manage – ConnectivityYou can use this page to add a new connectivity, or delete, update and store the existing connectivityinformation.

This page is only available after signing in.

Field/Button Description

Add Click this button to add a certain type of connection.

Delete Click this button to delete a selected connection.

Connect Click this button to connect to a selected connection.

If the connection is successful, the connection is applied.

Audit Click this button to show more information about a connection.

Search After you type the key words of a connection in this field, all the connectionnames that contain the key words are filtered and displayed.

Name The connection name you specified when you stored a connection.

Endpoint The endpoint name you have defined for an EMS or RV connection.

URL The URL information of the connection that you have stored.

The following fields appear only after you click Audit.

Modified On Last time the connection was modified.

Modified By The user who modified the connection.

Created On Time when the connection was first created.

Created By The user who created the connection.

Manage - Connectivity Details: EMSFrom the Manage – Connectivity page, click EMS and double-click an existing connectivity; the EMSConnectivity Details page is displayed. If you click Add, the New EMS Connectivity Details pageappears.

Field/Button Description

Connection Name The name you specify for an EMS connection.

Endpoint NameType an endpoint name for an EMS connection, or click to selectone.

This field can be changed to Customized User Selectionfiled, if you change the parameters in the other fields.

Host (URL) The syntax is host: port, where:

host is the URL or IP address of the machine on which the EMS serverruns.

port is the TCP port number.

These values match the ones to which the Substation ESAdministration interface is connected.

Default: TIBCO.EMS.Server:7222

CHECK Click this button to check whether the host URL you have provided iscorrect. If the host URL is correct, Checked successfully isdisplayed. Otherwise an error message is displayed.

User Name The user identifier if a special identification applies to the connection.

Default: admin

Password The password associated with the username if a special identificationapplies to the connection.

Destination Type The type of the destination to which the Substation ES Administrationinterface listens. The options are Queue (default) or Topic.

Queue or Topic Name The name of a queue or a topic to which Mainframe WebUI sends thecommand request. This name is the same as the one used by theSubstation ES Administration interface.

Default: tibss.admin.sxs.request

Substations Select a Substation ID from the list.

If no Substation ID is listed, click to refresh, and get theSubstation IDs from Substation ES.

Save Click this button to save a connection.

Cancel Click this button to go back to the previous page.

Field/Button Description

Replicate Click this button to make a copy of a connection.

Connect Click this button to make a connection to the Substation ES server. Ifthe connection is successful, the connection is applied.

Reset Click this button to cancel the changes you just made.

Manage - Connectivity Details: RVFrom the Manage – Connectivity page, click RV and double-click an existing connection; the RVConnectivity Details page is displayed. If you click Add, the New RV Connectivity Details page isdisplayed.

Field/Button Description

Connection Name The name you specify for an RV connection.

Endpoint NameType an endpoint name for an RV connection, or click to selectone.

This field can be changed to Customized User Selectionfiled, if you change the parameters in the other fields.

Daemon (URL) The syntax is host: port, where:

host is the URL or IP address of the machine on which theRendezvous daemon runs.

port is the TCP port number.

These values match the ones to which the Substation ESAdministration interface is connected.

Default: RV.daemon.url:7500

CHECK Click this button to check whether the RV Daemon URL you haveprovided is correct. If the URL is correct, Checked successfully isdisplayed. Otherwise an error message is displayed.

Network The IP address of your network, if applicable.

Service The UDP service port for the Substation ES Administrationinterface.

Default: 7555

Subject Name The Rendezvous subject name to which Substation ES listens, andalso to which Mainframe WebUI sends the Substation ESoperational commands.

Default: tibss.admin.sxs.request

The charts provide information regarding the number of available connections for EMS, RV,CICS, and IMS. The four charts also show the statuses of connections. The charts for EMS and RV showConnected, NotStarted, and Disconnected. The charts for CICS and IMS show Connected andDisconnected.

The following picture shows the four charts.

Access - EntitiesYou can use this page to view all the available entities in the Configure module and Define module.You can also manage the entity permission when you sign in the product as a master user.

User Management - User Details

From the For Master User - User Management page, double-click the existing account or click Add, theUser Details page is displayed.

Field/Button/Check Box Description

Last Name Type a last name for an account name.

First Name Type a first name for an account name.

User Name This field shows the user name.

New Password Type a new password for an account.

Workspace You can select a workspace from the list. The default workspaces areCICS_EMS and CICS_RV.

Access denied Select this check box to deny a specific user access to a workspace.

Access Permission Select this check box to permit a specific user access to a workplace.

Entity Permission You can select a type of entities from the list. The entities that belongin this type are filtered and displayed.

Save Click this button to save the changes you have made.

Cancel Click this button to cancel the changes you have made.

Replicate Click this button to replicate an account.

Reset Click this button to cancel the changes you have made.

When you select a type from the Entity Permission list, the following fields appear:

Field/Button/Check Box Description

Entity Name Name of an entity you specified.

Type It shows the type of an entity.

Owner If you are the owner of an entity, you are allowed to modify theentity.

Viewer If you are the viewer of an entity, you are not allowed to modify theentity.

For Master User - Global SettingsYou can use the For Master User - Global Settings page to set the usage of Mainframe WebUI.

Area/Field/Button Description

Usage To set the usage of the product you can select or clear the following check boxes:

● Track● Manage● EMS● RV● CICS● IMS● Batch● RED

RV InstallationPath

Provide the RV installation path in this field. For example: TIBCO_HOME/tibrv/version

This field is only available when the RV check box is selected. Afteryou provide the path in the field, you should restart the Tomcat server.

Save Click this button to save the changes you have made.

Reset Click this button to reset the changes and return to the previous page.
