SCHOOL ORGANISATION AND MAKING CONTACT
6
The teaching staff are organised into Faculties (sometimes a single subject and sometimes a
group of subjects) based on their specialist areas of knowledge, with a Head of Faculty who is
in charge of learning and teaching in that subject. Your child will normally have a different
teacher for each subject who is a specialist in that subject.
If you have a question or concern about your child’s work or learning in a subject, the best
person to address it to is your child’s teacher in that subject. If for any reason you are not
happy with the answers you receive, you should contact the head of that subject or Faculty.
Students are organised into year groups according to their age. Each tutor group has a Form
Tutor who is the teacher responsible for the learning and development of each child across all
the subjects the child takes. Each year group has a Head of Year, who is the teacher who
manages the work of the Form Tutors and works with them in supporting the learning and
development of students in the year group. Each year group also has a Learning Relationships
Co-ordinator who focuses particularly on the social and emotional needs of children in the
year group and has no teaching timetable.
If you have a question or concern about your child’s general learning or progress you should
contact your child’s Form Tutor. If for any reason you are not happy with the answers you
receive, you should contact the Head of Year.
If you have a question or concern regarding your child’s social or emotional needs in school
(including friendship issues or incidents of bullying), or you want to pass on information about
your child’s situation or experiences outside school that you think may affect their learning
and development in school, you should contact the Learning Relationships Co-ordinator for
your child’s year. If for any reason you are not happy with the answers or response you
receive, you should contact the Head of Year.
All staff are best contacted using email. You may communicate with staff by email and they
will acknowledge your email and get back to you as soon as they can. There is a strict code
followed by all staff regarding emails and this includes not engaging in debates about
problematic issues: these should be dealt with by arranging a meeting. The correct function of
emails is to exchange information.

HOME/SCHOOL AGREEMENT
At Thurstable School our ambition for all is to
Achieve More, Belong More, Be More
Thurstable School will offer an education
Characterised by high quality teaching and learning
Personalised to the intellectual, social, emotional and spiritual needs of every student
Based on broadly Christian values, developing sound moral principles and mutual respect
for all
In a safe, caring, well ordered environment where everyone is aware of their rights and
their responsibilities
Enriched by a range of extra-curricular activities
In partnership with parents, providing regular information on their child’s attainment and
progress, and keeping parents closely informed about the life of the school
All members of the school community enjoy three fundamental rights
The right to be safe
The right to learn and teach
The right to be treated with respect
HOME/SCHOOL AGREEMENT (contd.)
8
It is the responsibility of all members of the school community to afford these basic rights to
all others at all times. For students, this means following our rules and routines, which are
there to protect the rights of others. Students who fail to do this must accept that their
actions will have consequences which may be either immediate or deferred, but will follow
with consistency and certainty.
We expect students to:
Give of their best at all times
Take a pride in their school, re-enforcing our positive reputation and affirming our values
Take responsibility for planning and organising their own learning outside lessons, so that
they can make the most of the opportunities we offer
Attend school regularly and punctually in full uniform
Come properly equipped to cope with all the requirements of the school day
Behave on their journey to and from school in a manner that reflects credit upon them
and upon the school
We expect that parents will:
Support our values, and in particular our stance on rights, responsibilities and
consequences, including the imposition of after school detentions and internal isolations
where we deem them necessary
Ensure that their child is supplied with full and correct school uniform, and leaves home
wearing it
Ensure that their child has the equipment needed for classroom and practical work, and
brings it to school
Attend parents’ evenings and any specially arranged appointments concerning the
progress of their child
Show interest in their child’s work, in their school day and in their homework in hand,
providing help where appropriate
Inform the school of any planned absence well in advance, of any unplanned absence as
soon as it occurs and supply a note to the Tutor after all absences
We recommend that your child should have the following facilities at home to facilitate his/
her education:
A suitable area for study to aid concentration and the development of good study habits
Access to the local library, and to a computer with a broadband connection.
We consider all parents to be part of our community and we hope that parents will involve
themselves in the life of the school as much as possible. The PTFA always welcomes new
members and the governing body requires a regular supply of parent governors. Thurstable is
your school too.

UNIFORM
The only coat that is acceptable school uniform anywhere on the school site is one or
both parts of the Thurstable fleece and outer shell combination. It is compulsory for all
main school students to have one or both parts of the school coat with them in school
during the autumn and spring terms. Any other coats worn or seen in school will be
confiscated. Students will be able to collect their non uniform confiscated coats at the
end of the day on the first 3 occasions. For each subsequent occasion after this parents
will be required to collect from main reception.
The Thurstable blazer is compulsory at all times in school. The Thurstable coat/fleece
cannot be worn instead of it.
Trousers and skirts purchased from suppliers other than http://www.yourschoolwear.co.uk/
thurstable-school-147-c.asp must match the items available from the Anglia Schoolwear
Thurstable website. Fashion items in colours, fabrics or styles noticeably different from the
items available on this site are not acceptable school uniform. Please do not allow your child
to convince you otherwise. If in doubt please come into school and view our items, or, to be
sure, buy from http://www.yourschoolwear.co.uk/thurstable-school-147-c.asp . Skirts must be
worn knee length or just below.

note that they are not allowed to wear anything in that piercing at any time during the

Additional Uniform Guidance
Clarification on School Trousers
The aim of this guidance is to clarify which types of trouser we consider appropriate
Thurstable school uniform, and which we do not. Ultimately, unless we are to insist that only
items bought from http://www.yourschoolwear.co.uk/thurstable-school-147-c.asp are
acceptable, the judgement on whether or not a pair of trousers are compliant with our
uniform will be an individual professional judgement, made by Heads of Year, and informed by
the following guidelines.
Colour
All school trousers must be plain black (no patterning).
School Trousers
School trousers are formal non-fashion items of clothing which are likely to feature the
following elements:
Tailoring that is not extreme (neither cling fit nor excessively baggy)
Self colour belt hoops
Front button (not an excessive number)
Concealed front zip
Internally tailored slit entry pockets
Jeans
Jeans are casual fashion wear and are never acceptable everyday school uniform. If trousers
features one or more of these elements we are likely to define them as jeans:
Sewn on (rather than recessed) rear pockets
Quarter circle cut front pockets
Studs
Denim fabric (of whatever colour)
Prominent stitching, particularly around the back pockets and the leg seams
Leggings
Leggings are casual fashion wear and are never acceptable everyday school uniform. They may
be suitable for specialist activities such as dance. If a trouser features one or more of these
elements we are likely to define them as leggings:
Skin tight fit
Fabric designed to cling – high lycra mix, or similar
No front pockets
No button
No zip
13
HOMEWORK
Homework is an integral part of a student’s learning opportunity at Thurstable School.
Homework is set regularly, but the amount and type of work set depends upon the age and
ability of the individual child, together with the nature of the subject. The school seeks to
develop increasingly independent learners who take responsibility for their learning.
Homework makes an important contribution to this process and, therefore, it is our
expectation that students will complete every piece of homework set. There is very likely to
be a consequence if they do not complete homework on time and to an acceptable standard.
What type of Homework will be set?
The type of homework set will vary according to the student’s ability and the purpose of the
task. Typically, homework set in core subjects will be shorter pieces of work, whilst
homework set in foundation subjects will be longer pieces of work, designed to develop
independent learning and thinking skills.
This variety might incorporate: worksheets, research learning, reading, note-making,
summarising, comprehension, problem solving, testing, collecting data, revision, essays,
sketching, listening to podcasts, viewing video.
KS3 Years 7 – 8 The following subjects will set one homework a week: Mathematics, Science,
Modern Foreign Languages, ICT, Humanities. English will typically set one written and one
reading homework per week. It is expected that students will spend up to 30 minutes on each
subject. Subjects may prefer to set more open ended project based assignments which will be
structured enabling students who require guidance to know what they should be doing on a
weekly basis.
The following subjects provide an extensive programme of extra-curricular activities and
teachers will therefore set homework only as and when necessary in Years 7 and 8: Art,
Drama, DT, Music and Physical Education.
KS4 Years 9 – 11
All subjects at KS4 will set one piece of homework per week. It is expected that students will
spend a maximum of 60 minutes on each subject.
KS5 Sixth Form
All subjects will set up to two pieces of homework per week. It is expected that the students
will spend between 3 – 5 hours on each subject.
A regular homework routine is important. Homework in all subjects is set on Go4schools,
where parents can find it easily through the timetable section.
If there is an exceptional reason why homework cannot be done at the right time, a parent or
carer should write a note to explain, or email the member of staff. Otherwise, children will
serve a detention in school if they do not hand in their work when it is expected. Following
24 hours notice, this detention may be at the end of the school day and it is then the parents’
responsibility to arrange transport home.
ESSENTIAL EQUIPMENT
The Reprographics Department is situated behind Main Reception. Students can purchase
coloured paper and card for coursework. Reprographics offer various forms of document
binding and finishing. Students can pay cash for any purchases or deduct it from their printing
allowance.
REPROGRAPHICS
PRINTING IN CLASS
Each student will be given a small budget for their in-school printing (£5 for the Sixth Form,
£4 for Years 10 and 11 and £3 for Years 7, 8 & 9), which will be for the academic year.
It is therefore very important that students keep their network user name and password
secret, in order to ensure that no-one else can access their printing allowance.
Students will be able to top up their printing account via the Finance department if they need
to. The A4 cost per copy charge is 3p for black and white and 15p for colour. A3 charges for
black and white are 3p per copy and 15p for colour.
Pens
Pencils and colouring pencils (not felt tips that soak though paper)
Rubber
Ruler
Mathematical instruments (protractor, set square and a pair of compasses)
Calculator
A bag suitable for carrying books and files and keeping them in good order
Sharpener
Please mark all items with the child’s name.
Students are responsible for the safe keeping of text books and equipment issued to them and used
in lessons. They may be asked to pay for replacements if lost or damaged.
14
STANDING CLASSROOM RULES
Students must not talk amongst themselves when their teacher (or another student with the teacher’s permission) is addressing the whole class.
Chewing gum is not allowed, and must be put in the bin if seen.
Drinking water is allowed in lessons at the teacher’s discretion.
Listening to personal music is not allowed in lessons. Group music is at the discretion of the teacher.
Mobile phones and headphones must be out of sight and not used in lessons, unless they are being used as part of the lesson with the teacher’s permission.
15
THURSTABLE GSUITE
GSuite is our online, communication and collaboration platform. All resources and services
on GSuite can be accessed at home or wherever there is a 3G, 4G or WiFi connection.
Departmental sites are used to share lessons and other important information with students.
Google Drive: Google Drive allows students to store and then access files anywhere - on
the web, on a computer or on a mobile device on the go. If a file is changed on the web, on a
computer or on a mobile device, then it updates on every device where students use Google
Drive. Files that are saved on Google Drive can be shared with teachers and used for
collaborative working.
Gmail: Emails are integrated into GSuite. This can be used to email teachers and share
Google Drive documents with teachers.
Google Classroom: Google Classroom is a new and easy way students and teachers can
manage work. Teachers can create assignments that have all of the resources needed such as
worksheets and sources of information for an activity. The work can then be completed and
marked online. Work cannot be lost because it is stored in the cloud.
THE E-LEARNING CENTRE
The E-Learning Centre (ELC) is a space created in close consultation with students. This
space is designed to incorporate new technology and teaching methods to aid students in
their learning.
Teachers can book this facility to use in their lessons. The ELC is bursting full of new and
interesting technology. Ever wondered what a 20ft Green Screen and production lighting kit
looks like? Come and visit the ELC and see for yourself.
As well as this facility being used in lessons, it is also open at break time and lunch time for
students to use the equipment, complete homework and meet up with friends. Need to stay
after school and do some work? No problem, the ELC and all of its resources are available
until 5pm every night.
The ELC is constantly changing and with each new year the ELC adapts to fit the needs of the
new Year 7’s.
16
Go4schools enables parents to access online, 24 hours a day, the most up to date
information regarding their son/daughter’s progress at Thurstable School. Parent support is a
crucial partnership that allows us to give the support required to your child to make the best
possible start on the long road to adulthood. Through Go4schools you can access the
following information:
Online Assessment Data
Every subject that your child studies is shown on Go4schools. Every subject assesses
students in different ways but Go4schools shows this information in an accessible way. This
is live, so when a teacher enters an assessment mark, you will see this within seconds.
Behaviour Tracking
Teachers at Thurstable use Go4schools to enter behaviour concerns and merits. This allows
parents to see if there are any issues with their son/daughter the moment the issue arises.
This means that issues are addressed earlier and allows strategies to be put into place to
help remedy any problems.
Reports
Reports are generated 5 times per year. They are produced in the first week after each half
term. These are viewed online on Go4schools and give a summary of the targets and current
progress that the student is making. These reports also give details of any cause for concerns
that you would want to discuss with the teacher/tutor or Head of Year. A paper copy can be
made available upon request.
Attendance Information
Attendance information is updated overnight, and enables you to check your child’s
attendance levels.
Homework
There is a homework section on Go4schools that shows when homework is set, and when it
is due in a logical order. Resources and links necessary to complete the work are also
included. This helps provide support for both students and parents, and allows them to plan
their time effectively. Full details of any task can be obtained by clicking on the homework.
GO4SCHOOLS
REWARDS SYSTEM Merits are awarded to students in Years 7 – 11, and these are recognised through letters
home, from Tutors, Heads of Year or the Deputy Head, Year display boards, certificates and
award evenings. Merits are accrued by a student over each year. Merits are shown on
Go4Schools.
Merits can be awarded by staff for:
The Reward Ladder
Working hard in any subject Showing consideration to others
High attainment in the classroom and/or homework
Participation in the wider school community
Improved attitude to/effort with work Demonstrating a positive attitude to school
50 Bronze 150 Gold 350 Diamond
100 Silver 250 Platinum
17
STUDENT SERVICES
Student Services is staffed daily from 8.00am – 3.30pm. The main function of Student Services
is the administration of all student data, admissions, attendance and absence. You should
inform Student Services in writing if there are changes in your child’s information, i.e. change
of address, phone number, so we can ensure your child’s record is kept as up to date as
possible. Emails should be sent to [email protected]
If your child is sick or unable to attend school:
Telephone the school before 9am on 01621 816526 and select option 2 for
the attendance officer
Leave a message confirming your child’s name, tutor group and reason for absence
If the period of absence is longer than 3 days arrangements can be made for work
to be sent home, if appropriate, via the Head of Year.
We cannot provide education at home services if a child is too ill to attend school
for more than 15 days. For individual or cumulative absences of 15 days or more,
provision of education for children too ill to attend school is the responsibility of
the Local Education Authority.
If your child has a medical or dental appointment during school time:
Telephone the school with as much notice as possible on 01621 816526 and
select option 2 for the attendance officer
Leave a message confirming your child’s name, tutor group and reason,
date and time of absence
Students attending an appointment during school time will be required to
sign out at Student Reception and sign in on their return to school
Students will be required to hand in a note from parent or an appointment card at
Student Reception as they sign out.
EXCEPTIONAL LEAVE OF ABSENCE Holidays should be taken during school holidays so that continuity of learning can be
maintained.
The school will only grant authorised absence in exceptional circumstances.
If you wish to take your child out of school during term time:
Your child should collect a Request For Exceptional Leave Of Absence Form from
Student Reception for your completion.
The form should be returned to Student Services completed for consideration at
least 3 weeks before the intended leave of absence.
If permission for an authorised absence is not granted by the school and you take
your child out of school, the absence will be recorded as unauthorised.
The Education Welfare Officer may contact you about unauthorised absences and
unauthorised absences may result in a fixed penalty notice.
ABSENCE
STUDENT RECEPTION
18
Student Reception is staffed daily from 8.30am until 3.30pm. Student Reception is there to help your child with any general questions. This is where your child will need to sign in if they arrive late for school, or sign out if they need to leave school before the end of the school day. Please send a letter to be handed in at Student Reception if your child needs to leave for an appointment. If you need to get a message to your child, please contact the Student Receptionist, who will send a message to your child. We are unable to get messages to your child during morning break, lunch time, we will endeavour to get messages to students period 6 but this cannot be guaranteed.
MEDICAL ROOM, ACCIDENTS AND FIRST AID
We have a number of staff trained as first aiders who supervise the school Medical Room during school hours. If your child has an accident or is unwell during school, they will be seen by a trained first aider. We cannot “treat” injuries or illness or give pain killers. First aiders are not able to diagnose any illness or ailments and you should see your GP for any diagnosis of any medical condition. Our role is to take reasonable care of all students and you will be contacted if we feel a student cannot remain in school. In the event of an emergency, an ambulance may be called. Please ensure that you advise us of any changes to your emergency contact details.
Students should not use their mobile phones to contact a parent or carer directly to ask them to come into school to pick them up. Whilst this is understandable, it is also very damaging, as it can undermine the ability of the school to effectively care for students during the school day, and can also put students at risk as the school must know where students are at all times. It also undermines the authority of the school, as we are in law and must be in practice “in place of parents” during the school day.
MEDICATION
If your child has any medical condition, please ensure that we are informed by using the form
included in this booklet. We would encourage you to work with your child and medical
practitioners before they start secondary school to ensure that your child knows how to
manage their medical condition and any medication that they need to take.
Small quantities of their medication may be brought into school as necessary. If parents
require us to administer medication they must hand it in, in person at Reception in order that
the necessary paperwork may be completed. Prescribed medication should be in the box it
has been issued in from the pharmacist clearly stating name and dosage. Any other
medication e.g. paracetamol must be in the original packaging. The school cannot take
responsibility for ‘out of date’ medication.
19
IMMUNISATIONS
The school facilitates certain immunisations on behalf of the Primary Care Trust. The PCT
will request your written consent for the immunisation. If you would like your child to
receive the vaccination, you must complete their permission slip and return it to Student
Reception. Your child will not receive the vaccination if we have not received your written
consent. Currently, the following vaccinations are facilitated:
Meningitis ACWY vaccine. This vaccine is given to all Year 9 students.
HPV vaccine (Human Papilloma Virus). This vaccine is for girls in Year 8 only and is a
course of two injections (this immunisation is not available from your GP).
DTP vaccine (Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio). This vaccine is offered to all students in Year 9
and is a single injection.
LOCKERS
Lockers are available for storage of items in school. Once issued, it is important that students
use the locker they are issued and do not swap lockers with other students. There is a one-
off payment of £10 for Year 7 students, £8 for Year 8 students, £6 for Year 9 students, £4 for
Year 10 students and £2 for Year 11 students. Each locker will be supplied with a padlock and
2 keys. If this is lost there will be a charge of £3 for a replacement or you can purchase
another padlock from a local supplier. The locker remains the students’ until the end of year
11, when students must make sure they have emptied their belongings.
LOST PROPERTY
Lost property is handed to the Student Reception which is located in the A corridor. Any
item that is handed in and is named will be sent directly back to the student. Unnamed items
that have not been collected at the end of each school term will be disposed of.
The school canteen is able to provide an excellent selection of healthy meals for breakfast,
mid morning break and lunch. Main meals can cost as little as £1.40 for pasta and a
homemade tomato and basil sauce through to £2.20 for a full roast meal. Drinks are all of a
healthy nature and start at 55p. The school canteen cannot guarantee food will be nut free or
cooked in a nut free environment.
The school operates a cashless catering system. A card is issued at the beginning of Year 7. If
this is lost or damaged, this can be replaced at a cost of £2.00 per card at the Finance Office
during break time 10.30am – 10.50am. This can be paid for from your lunch account or in
cash. Student accounts are topped up using ParentPay, an online facility giving parents various
levels of control. More details of the benefits of this system are supplied later in this booklet.
If you wish your child to have a daily spending limit on their account, please contact the
Finance department who will arrange this for you.
Students can also bring in packed lunch.
We expect all students to use the numerous bins provided for their rubbish and to assist in
keeping our school clean.
We prefer students to remain in school for lunch. However, if you wish your child to go home
for lunch please forward a letter to Mr Lee, the Deputy Head. If approved, a pass will be
issued to them.

SCHOOL CATERING
PHOTOGRAPHY
Unless parents inform us otherwise, we assume their permission for their children to be
photographed in school for use within the school and in school publications distributed solely
to members of the school community. Where photographs are to be used outside the school
(press, school brochure, the school website), we always request individual permission in each
case.
If parents do not wish their child to be photographed for internal school use, they should
make this clear via the data collection form.
Official school photos are taken each September and can be ordered online

PARENTPAY
Thurstable School operates an online cashless payment system for all payments such as
dinner money, school trips, lockers and revision guides. We use a secure website called
ParentPay which enables you to pay online using your credit or debit card. ParentPay is easy
to use and will offer you the freedom to make online payments whenever and wherever you
like, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, safe in the knowledge that the technology used is of the
highest internet security. You will be provided with a secure online account, activated using a
unique username and password which the school will send to you. If you do not have access
to the internet, then please call the Finance Department for the alternative payment options.
Please allow 30 minutes for the payment to upload onto the school system.
FREE SCHOOL MEALS
Even if your child was entitled to free school meals whilst at primary School, in order to
receive Free School Meals at secondary school you will need to reapply in advance of your
son/daughter starting with us at Thurstable School in September 2019. Please use the
following website address to make an online application with Essex County Council, who
administer the applications. Essex County Council have informed us that you will be able to
do this at any time after 1 March 2019.
https://forms.essex.gov.uk/default.aspx/RenderForm/?F.Name=ezuYezDPCbJ&HideAll=1
It is important that you register if you are entitled to Free School Meals even if your child
does not intend to take advantage of the allowance as this brings additional funding to the
school. If you do wish to take advantage of the allowance, an amount of £2.20 will be
credited to your child’s lunch card daily. However, please be aware that the allowance will not
be visible to the student on their card. If you wish to increase the amount available for your
son or daughter to use in the school canteen, you can make a payment to their account via
ParentPay.
If you have any questions or concerns about Free School Meal applications or ParentPay
please do not hesitate to contact our Finance Department by email on
[email protected] or phone on 01621 816526 Ext. 150.
INSTRUMENTAL LESSONS
22
Instrumental lessons are a vital element of the music programme here at Thurstable School.
We are able to provide them free of charge for students who are in receipt of free school
meals. The scheme provides additional opportunities to develop individual musicianship,
creativity and self-expression. Performing also enhances transferable skills such as co-
ordination, confidence, presentation skills, self-discipline and teamwork.
Instrument Tuition
Thurstable School offers tuition for a range of orchestral and non-orchestral instruments.
Lessons are provided in school by Essex Music Services. Essex County Council review their
prices each year during the spring term implementing any increase from April. The cost of
these lessons from April 2019 are £76.13 per term for 10 x 15 minute lesson, £101.50 for 10
x 20 minute lessons and £152.25 for 10 x 30 minutes lessons. All lessons are on a one to one
basis. Large musical instruments can be stored in a secure room at the music department.
The link to sign up for lessons is https://ukessex.speedadmin.dk/account/signin?ReturnUrl=%
2fdashboard%2findex.aspx
Payment for Instrument Lessons
Invoices will be sent out the term before the music lesson is required. This means that if
students require lessons in the autumn term 2019, the invoice will be sent out at the
beginning of the summer term for payment by the end of the summer term. It is important
that these invoices are settled before the lessons are due, otherwise the lessons may have to
be cancelled. All payments should be made on Parent Pay.
Essex Music Vouchers
Families receiving Income Support, Job Seekers Allowance, Working Tax Credit or Child Tax
Credit can apply for an Essex Music Voucher which can significantly reduce the cost of lessons.
Parents should apply at https://www.essexmusichub.org.uk/site/parents-carers/tuition-
discount/
Cancellation of Lessons
Written confirmation is required from parents in the event of anyone wishing to discontinue
their tuition. This must be sent to Mrs Thomson by email to
[email protected] during the first week of the term before the lessons start
to avoid being charged for the following term.
Instrument hire
Thurstable School has some Flutes, Clarinets, Trumpets, Saxophones, Trombones and Violins
available at a cost of £20 per term (free to students eligible for free school meals). Parents
and students are responsible for the safe return of the instrument in good condition. If a
suitable instrument is not available from school, parents can also contact Essex Music Services
on 01206 798788.
Timetables
Students must ensure that they arrive to their lessons on time and fully equipped (instrument,
music, practice diary etc.) in order to maximise their learning potential. Timetables will be
displayed on the notice board in the Music Department. Students should check the notice
board at the start of the day to check for any unavoidable changes.
If your child has been offered a school place and you think you may qualify, you can apply for
free home to school transport online with Essex County Council at www.essex.gov.uk/
schooltransport . A separate completed application form must be submitted for each child.
The bus company’s application forms for each route to Thurstable School can be found on the
home page of our website at: http://www.thurstable.essex.sch.uk/ .
Should your child lose a bus pass, you should contact the bus company for a replacement for
which a charge will be made. Students travelling on school transport must carry their bus
pass at all times as school bus drivers will charge the daily fare to any student not able to
show a bus pass to travel to and from school.
If your child travels to and from school by car, to allow safe access for buses and students,
please do not drive on to the school site between 8am – 9am and 2.45pm – 3.30pm. The gate
in Barbrook Lane is locked in the morning at 8.30am and is opened at 3.00pm.
When parking near the school, please show consideration to local residents. There is a
student bike shelter located at the front of the school with space for up to forty bicycles. If
your child uses a bicycle, please ensure that they use a cycle lock.
