ITEMS THE JUNIOR SCHOOL ARE COLLECTING THIS TERM

Do you have any of the following second hand items in good condition no longer being used at home that you would be happy to donate to the school? Matchbox cars Sylvanian families Barbies Lego My Little Ponies Any items greatly accepted. Please leave at the school office.

ROAD SAFETY

A reminder that even when it is raining it is important that parents do not park on yellow lines or in driveways to drop off or pick up children. This happened far too many times this week and is unacceptable. I have had complaints from residents one of whom was unable to enter her driveway because a Hauraki parent parked there while she went to pick up her child. This is totally unacceptable and has been reported to the local police.

EZ LUNCH

EzLunch are looking forward to providing healthy lunches again this term. EzLunch is celebrating its 10th birthday this year. They are celebrating with a new improved menu. Thank you for being part of their journey and enjoy your ezlunching this term.

WALKING SCHOOL BUS

Hot chocolate & muffins for WSB walkers In term 2 free hot chocolate and muffins made a wonderful morning for all the children who are part of our school's award winning Walking School Bus. This is just one of the ways that we reward families who choose the active, environmentally friendly and fun way to get to school each day. Chocolate chip or spiced apple - which muffin is your favourite? Want to have a hearty snack when you get to school this term? Join us on the WSB! Terrific Tags for our Wonderful Walkers Mrs Franklin handed out tags celebrating some of our fantastic walkers last term. Children who achieve walking milestones get tags - the more you walk the more tags you get.

We celebrated walkers who had completed 50, 100, 200, 300, 450 and 600 walks. We're so proud of you, well done! Why take the Walking School Bus? Why not? It's fun. It's never held up in traffic, nor does it ever run out of fuel! Our buses help kids do their bit for the environment, and build a life-long knowledge that you don't need a car to get where you need to go - just walk! It's also a brilliant way to get to know the kids who live nearby - developing friendships helps build kids' confidence and saves driving to drop-off or pick-up from play dates. Parents love the WSB because it's a chance to chat with the people in our neighbourhood, and it's quicker to drive the bus once a week than it is to take children to school every day. Join now!

What's up with the Winter Wizard? WSB kids will get to dress up in term 3 and win prizes. Find out more here: https://at.govt.nz/cycling-walking/travelwise-school-programme/walking-school-bus/winter-wizard/ Join the fun and be part of the Walking School Bus @Hauraki

Next Tuesday is Pie Day again! Order online through Kindo NOW! With the weather so cold it's nice knowing that your children will have a warm pie (or 2) for lunch. If you bought a ticket to Tenet you'll have extra $$ in your account to buy pies. Feeling better now?

If thinking about yummy pies didn't cheer you up after the disappointment of Tenet's cancellation, here's some more good news...
