I can use prepositions in sentences.
English
Starter- SimilesA simile is when you compare one thing with another thing of a different kind. It is used to make a description clearer and more interesting.
When writing a simile we use the word ‘like’ or the phrase ‘as………..as a …………’
E.g. ‘as brave as a lion’ and ‘like a rocket’.
The poem below is formed entirely out of similes. AS
As wet as a fish – as dry as a bone;As live as a bird – as dead as a stone; As plump as a partridge – as poor as a rat;As strong as a horse – as weak as a cat;As hard as flint – as soft as a mole;As white as a lily – as black as coal;As plain as a pike –staff - as rough as a bear;As heavy as lead – as light as a feather; As steady as time – uncertain as weather.

CommunityWhat does the word ‘community’ mean?
What communities are you a part of?
I can explore different ways children can communicate online.
Computing
Online CommunicationUse your book and pens to write down what an online
community could be.
Are you part of any online communities?
Community CommunicationIn a local community, people talk and interact all the time.
A big difference between a real-life community and an online community is that people all over the world can communicate with anyone else instantly, not just via email. They can communicate by
using chat rooms, social media, comments, and even games forums.
They see each other often; even people who don’t know each other
well talk to each other in shops, to make
arrangements or just to say hello.
Community Communication
??
?Do you think being able to talk to anyone, anywhere is a good or bad thing?
You can talk to people with
the same interests.
You can support other people’s ideas
and work.
You are able to buy and
sell things to anyone.
You can make friends all over the
world. You can talk to people
you’d never meet in real
life.
You don’t always know if people are who they say.
People think because they’ll
never meet you, they can
be rude.
Anyone can send you
anything and it might be
something you don’t like.
Safe and SensibleIs there a difference between how people talk in real life and online?
Look at these comments on an online post and decide if you would say them in real life.
In real life, we couldn’t imagine strangers
saying unkind things about something we
did.
A good rule to follow is that if you wouldn’t say it in real life, you
shouldn’t say it online.
Remember, words can be just as hurtful online.
Online Communication
How do you use online communication?
What online communities do you belong to?
How do you feel about online communication?
Record your ideas in your book. Here is an example of how you can set out your work.
