These stars of stage and screen just get better with age – here’s how they do it…

She’s been a familiar face on TV for more than a decade, but since joining Good Morning Britain last year, Susanna Reid, 44, is looking

younger and younger – and it’s not down to the surgeon’s knife. Instead, the busy mum-of-three has transformed herself with a brand-new wardrobe and hairdo, and now resembles fashion icon the Duchess of Cambridge.

Susanna regularly updates her 260,000 Twitter followers with her outft choices, including the Kate-esque knee-length dresses she teams with nude heels to make her legs look endless. The star even recycles her outfts, just like

the Duchess, and they’ve both rocked the same ultra-fattering LK Bennett foral print dress.

A big reason for her new image is her stylist Debbie Harper, who also selects outfts for ITV stars Lorraine Kelly and Kate Garraway. Debbie knows exactly how to fatter Susanna’s shape. Gone are the subdued suits

from her early career and over-revealing outfts from her BBC

News days. Now it’s affordable dresses from M&S, Whistles, Debenhams and Asos.

It’s a far cry from when Susanna had to buy her own on-screen outfts. ‘There are no budgets for stylists at the BBC,’ she

revealed at the time.

And it’s not just her wardrobe that’s had a makeover. Back in 2010,

Susanna’s crop may have been practical, but it simply aged her. Fast-forward to 2014, and the presenter has discovered the benefts of a good blow-dry.

‘Susanna’s face is quite long, so normally a longer style will only draw attention to the shape,’ explains celeb hairstylist Mark Hill. ‘Adding softness and movement through the sides gives the illusion of her face being wider, balancing the proportions.’

And combined with her love of running, Susanna continues to look younger every day, despite all those early mornings!

Seven years after being papped looking stunning in a red bikini, Dame Helen Mirren, 69, still looks just as fabulous.

And her secret? It’s all thanks to a 12-minute workout.

Devised by the Royal Canadian Air Force, the lateral bending, arm raises, partial sit-ups and push-ups, which help Helen turn back the clock, are an early form of HIIT from the 1950s. ‘It’s the exercise I’ve done on and off my whole life,’ reveals Helen, who is currently the face for L’Oréal. ‘It just very gently gets you ft.’

For the actress, it seems living in the moment is much more important than magically rewinding the years. ‘Using moisturiser makes me feel better,’ she explains. ‘It doesn’t have to make me look 10 years younger – it’s all about how it makes me feel better that day.’

Well, we think she always looks graceful and gorgeous!

After being replaced on This Morning by younger model

Holly Willoughby back in 2009, you’d think Fern Britton would be sensitive about her age. But that couldn’t be further from the truth – the presenter and author is embracing every imperfection.

‘I’m vain about being as ft as I can be – not about my wrinkles,’ says the mum-of-four, who’s taking part in a 1,000-mile charity cycle challenge next month.

‘I’ve had that conversation with myself about should I do Botox, should I do this, should I do that – and talked myself out of it. I’m either going to look odd, or I’m

going to look old, and I’d prefer to be the woman I should be. I’m 57, and I look like a 57-year-old, and I’m happy.’

And when it comes to other parts of her body, she’s equally unconcerned. ‘My bosoms are dropping? Blah, that’s life!’ she shrugs. ‘It’s important to say don’t try to compete with younger models – this is reality and it’s OK.’

How refreshing – we totally agree, Fern!
