ICP Shout Outs: Daphnie Chow: “Thank you for your organization and ease in leading the 2/3 class into to

the 2016 School Year!” Jody Ellinger: “ Our school board chair for all her hard work

getting the school ready for this school year! She's went above and beyond her job helping with everything from dramatic play set up to ordering and

assembling the balance bikes and making the play dough for the open house. Thanks for all you do for the school!”

Notes From Our Teachers:

From Teacher Gina:

Wow, where did the month of September go? The days are getting shorter, the temperature is getting colder, and the leaves are changing color. It’s the perfect time to introduce our next unit-fall. We will enjoy the changing seasons by focusing on open-ended fall arts and crafts, math and science activities.

This month all classes with be visiting the pumpkin patch. Stay tuned for more information from your class coordinator and please make sure to bring an extra bag for your pumpkin.

We look forward to seeing your Halloween Costumes at the all school Halloween Party on the 29th.

From Teacher Denise: It’s October and preschool is well underway. We are getting familiar with new routines, making new friends and happily being together. I have enjoyed getting to know your kids and am so excited about this year. In September we made books about ourselves and now have begun doing “I can” demonstrations of all the big kid things we can do. Look for a list of those special abilities to be shared in November’s newsletter. This month we will be learning about pumpkins and cap off that exploration with a trip to the pumpkin farm. We will be digging into Fall and talking about leaves and the changes that are happening as the weather turns and we see leaves falling. Speaking of weather changes, don’t forget to pack a change of clothing in your child’s backpack so they can comfortably play and explore outside. Boots and raincoats are also a good idea. Letter sharing will start in November. Don’t panic there will be plenty of information coming your way to help you and your kiddo prepare. Hooray for Fall!

ICP Halloween Party

Get ready all you Ghosts, Goblins, and Elsa's, ICP invites you and your family to our

annual Halloween party on October 29th 6:30-8:00.

We will be having a spooktacular time with games, dancing and a trunk or treat!

Evite will follow in the next few weeks with potluck information and additional

details.

Scholastic Book News:

Thank you to everyone for your participation in the Chinook book fundraiser! Please remember that order forms (with payment) are due no later than October 3rd. Books will be distributed when you've completed your fundraising. Our next great fundraiser is the Holiday Greens fundraiser! We are once again using DeGoede Brothers Nursery (Windmill Gardens) in Sumner. Their beautiful poinsettias are grown right in the Sumner Valley and shipped directly from the nursery to ICP. This means that your plants will stay bright and last longer than most store-bought plants. Order forms and checks, made out to ICP, are due no later than October 29th. Our plants will be delivered to our school between November 30th and December 5th. You must be available to pick up your order or make other arrangements with fundraising committee in advance. Information and order forms will be in your box at school and forms will be emailed out this week.

T-shirts and sweatshirts are available for purchase year-round, so if you would like to get one, please fill out a t-shirt form and put it in the Fundraising box.

Do you have a fundraising idea? We welcome all ideas, please email them to our Fundraising Chair, Tami Vacca, at [email protected].
