The information included in this publication is a summary of the most recent NBISD Board of Trustees meeting. This publication does not take the place of the official minutes for the meeting. Agendas for the Board meetings are available on the district’s website at www.nbisd.org. Regular Meeting July 28, 2014 Consent Agenda All items on the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine by the Board of Trustees and will be enacted with one motion. There will be no separate discussion of the items unless a Board member so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as an item on the Regular Agenda. The following items were approved: Minutes to the Public Hearing and Regular Board Meeting held on June 16, 2014 Advanced Academic Instructional Materials Adoption for science and foreign language Local Policy FFAA (LOCAL) 2014.02 (Second Reading) – Wellness and Health Services: Physical Examinations pertaining to Tuberculosis testing Action Items Approved Communities in Schools services for 2014-2015 with an increase of 4.46 percent over last year for a total cost of $87,750.00 for three (3) full-time CIS employees. Funding provided through the General Fund. Approved Fourth-Quarter and Annual Investment Reports for year ending June 30, 2014. Approved Option 3 Agreement for the purchase of Attendance Credits from the Texas Education Agency due to the District’s Chapter 41 status for the 2014-2015 school year. NBISD is not currently subject to recapture, but is required to select one out of five options to equalize wealth. Approved EIE (LOCAL) Policy partial suspension resolution for the 2014-2015 school year only related to the successful performance on the mathematics assessment as a condition of promotion in grades 5 and 8. Approved Agreement to lease classroom space at New Braunfels High School to Howard Payne University for College Courses including dual credit courses from June 1, 2014, through May 31, 2015. Approved Endorsement of Mrs. Cynthia Keene from Johnson City ISD as the Education Service Center XIII Position B Candidate for the Texas Association of School Boards’ Board of Directors Approved Date changes for the February, March and July regular board meetings in 2015 from the third Monday of the month due to student/staff holidays. New meeting dates will be: Monday, February 23, 2015; Monday, March 23, 2015; and Monday, July 27, 2015. Approved Appointment of Wes Clark to represent NBISD at the 2014 Texas Association of School Boards Delegate Assembly. Rigo Montero will serve as the alternate.

Regular  Meeting  July  28,  2014  

 Consent Agenda All items on the Consent Agenda are considered to be routine by the Board of Trustees and will be enacted with one motion. There will be no separate discussion of the items unless a Board member so requests, in which event the item will be removed from the Consent Agenda and considered as an item on the Regular Agenda. The following items were approved:

v Executive Director of Technology Matt Jones presented the monthly TEC21Report to the Board. v Director of Special Education Martie Rodriguez presented the newly created Special Education Parent

Information Notebook to the Board for review. v Executive Director of Business and Operations Steve Brown gave a written report on purchases made in

excess of $25,000 for the district to participate in the Unemployment Compensation program. v Executive Director of Business and Operations Steve Brown presented a report on the purchase in
