Ladies…
MARK YOUR CALENDARS!!! On
Wednesday, September 28 at 9:00am in
the Old Fellowship Hall (Room 110), we
will begin a Beth Moore Bible study on
the 2nd Book of Timothy - Entrusted.
This is a six-week study and will run
through Wednesday, November 2. If you
would like to participate in this Bible
study, call Sue Willis at 452-7277.
GET A FLU SHOT! SEPTEMBER 28 - 4:30-6:30pm
Family Life Center
Rite Aid in Canton will be providing flu
shots FREE to senior adults. You will need to present your Medicare Part B Card
and/or your Medicare Advantage Card. Non-seniors can get a shot with private
insurance or pay $32.99. Sign up at
Wednesday Fellowship Supper or call the church office. Forms to receive the flu shot
will be available at our suppers and in the church office. These forms should be
completed prior to September 28
in order to save time. (New this year… flu shots will be available for Medicaid recipients with proper identification.)
RED
BOX
From now until Sunday, September 25 we will be collecting lotion for Women’s Missionary Union’s “Red Box” Prison Ministry. Each WMU association in NC has been asked to participate and our association is responsible for collecting 300 bottles of lotion for the inmates at the NC Correctional Institute for Women and the Raleigh Correctional Center for Women. We will be collecting lotion in 8-11 oz. sizes, plastic bottles only - no pumps in the ‘red box’ located at the fireplace through Sunday, September 25. Your generosity is appreciated!

THANK YOU IN ADVANCE
FOR YOUR GENEROSITY!!!
Volunteers from Haywood Christian Ministry (HCM) recently called the church office to alert us of the very urgent need for canned goods for the Food Pantry. Those volunteers
emphasized the need for canned vegetables. They reported that the shelves of the Food Pantry are practically bare since school began. As we know many families with children (all ages) and seniors depend on the food items they receive from the HCM to survive between food stamps or the next check. If each family in our church would donate a couple of cans of vegetables every week or so, FBC would help stock those empty shelves. Please help support this vital ministry in our community.
This is an especially exciting week because we’re getting into our fall schedule. Our children’s ministry gets into full swing with kidCREATE and RAs and GAs this Wednesday. At this time, we have more than 100 children enrolled for kidCREATE, about 25 more than at this point last year! This is great, but it means we need to recruit more volunteers and secure more trans-portation! Please pray for this beginning! Also this Wednesday, we begin Wednesday Night Supper for the fall. It’s always great to get together for supper on Wednesday nights. Be sure to join us each week! In weeks to come, we’re also going to provide special study activities for adults, including Sunday School teacher training, mission studies, and book studies. Be looking for future announcements about these activities! Our worship unit on “Struggles” has been well received. This coming Sunday, September 11, we’ll be thinking about the struggle of “Worship,” as we focus on honoring God through our worship. I’ll be on vacation the following two Sundays. On September 18, Christi Huskison will share on the struggle of “Service,” and on September 25, Dan Smith will share on the struggle of “Gray Areas.” Be sure to be here both Sundays! Thank you all for your faithful giving. As of last week, we’ve received a little over $8,000 more this year than we had at this point last year. Please continue to be faithful in your giving, so we can continue to impact our community for Christ! See you Sunday!
