This is the double page spread of the NME magazine that I am going to analyse. The DPS is mainly picture led, with the picture taking up half of the DPS, with the pull quote taking up most of the other page. The picture is of ‘the lads’ in the cloths they would normally wear, which makes the tone this photo contrast dramatically to the front cover just from the cloths they where. The pull quote ‘the testicle overshadowed everything’ sets the tone of the article as being that of which the show portrays. There are only two columns to this article. This may be because the reader doesn’t want to be reading for hours about their events, instead gain a more concise incite into what went on. The standfirst introduces the article and this one explains what happens in the inbetweeners. It describes it as ‘rude’ and ‘crude’ etc. this gives the reader a good idea of what the article is going to be about and entices the reader further to read on. Overall I feel this is a good double page spread, taking into account what their target audience wants to read, and ensuring that the written vocabulary is in the tone of the inbetweeners.
