Albert Einstein
Luxury country hotel Set in the heart of the Cotswolds, Ellenborough Park required a sympathetic design featuring a diamond pattern for gates, trellis and planters.
Elevated walkway Stuart Garden Architecture were commissioned by contractors, ROK Construction, to design, manufacture and install an elevated walkway for the main entrance of Pinner Medical Centre, Middlesex.
Corporate renovation projectAs part of a major refurbishment, we were commissioned to create a number of modern style pergolas for this national organisation. Made from durable English Oak this modern style pergola was stained in Osmo Oils for a distinctive colouring.
Heritage refurbishment Using an old catalogue clipping for reference, we were commissioned to create 20 replica benches in English Oak to the original 1913 designs of Thomas Mawson.
The final renovation was highly commended at the 2012 Landscape Institute Awards:
“ This is an admirable scheme full of imagination and charm that maximises the use of heritage assets and their role in a re-invigorated garden.”

Tea houseThe central requirement on
this private garden tea house, was a slide-out day bed, perfect
for lazy summer evenings. The roof featured a slate trim to tie the design into the rest of the garden’s architecture.
Poolside beach huts Set on a hardwood decking and framework designed to house the pool cover, this single-room ‘beach hut’ was constructed with painted shiplap and cedar shin-gle roof incorporating Velux roof lights. The perimeter fence is a jointed, curved, 3" square trellis.
The big pictureBeing able to integrate into the plans of others is essential for the success of complex projects. Working with developers and contractors has given us the valuable experience needed to be conscious of deadlines and adaptable to changes.
We appreciate that not everything can be foreseen, especially with the great British weather so often playing its hand. Conscientious and considerate, our install team is always respectful of a project site often being a home, and thus are discrete and tidy.

There’s garden architecture and there’s Stuart Garden Architecture. We handcraft from the best quality hardwood, which mellows with age, becoming an integral part of your garden for years to come.
1930s garden restorationThe original garden of this Arts and Crafts style house was laid out in the 1930s. The design of trellis, pergola, arbour and seating required a sympathetic approach that integrated into the landscaping restoration project led by Helen Taylor Design.
Classic English gardenYew hedges and evergreen oaks were planted to define the garden boundaries whilst quality hardwood jointed trellis was used for internal enclosures. Moon gates and a gazebo extended the architectural interest out into the garden.
Prestigious developmentStuart Garden Architecture was commissioned by the Henley Brewery development to design, manufacture and install circular and straight pergolas, a gate house, stairwell shelter and planters for their project at the Old Henley Brewery, Oxfordshire.
Unique round doorThe unusual shape and hinge mechanism makes this incredible door truly one of a kind. Crafted from solid Oak with wrought iron fixtures, it’s a real testament to the skill of our carpenters and blacksmith.
