At Universal, we are passionate about this cause and have recently partnered with the non-profit organization Talk About Abuse to Liberate Kids (TAALK). TAALK is a U.S.-based, federally approved organization that believes proper education for children and adults can help to reduce instances of abuse, as well as support survivors during their healing processes. According to Diane Cranley, Founder and President of TAALK, child molesters use a technique called “grooming” to slowly and systematically build trust with kids and adults alike, typically resulting in being granted private access to children which is when 80% of abuse happens. With the right training, we can recognize when children are in danger and put best practices in place to directly reduce the risk of abuse in our homes, neighborhoods and youth serving organizations.
