How do you prepare for a special occasion?

THE LORD’S DAY“Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy. For six days, you will labor and do all your work, but the seventh day is a Sabbath for Yahweh your God. Do not work that day, neither you, nor your son, nor your daughter, nor your servants, men or women, nor your animals, nor the strangers who are staying with you. For in six days, God made the heaven and the earth, and the sea and all that is in them, but on the seventh day He rested; that is why God has blessed the Sabbath day and made it holy.”

THIRD COMMANDMENT:• Remember to keep the Lord’s day holy.

“Sabbath” means“Lord’s Day”.

Why do we keep the Lord’s Day holy?• God reminds us of the way He

created the world. He created the world in six days and rested on the Seventh day. He blessed this day and made it holy and sacred.

• “God’s day of rest is not merely the absence of work but is a day of tranquility, serenity, peace and repose”.

How do we rest on Sunday?

• We stop worrying about material things.

• We reflect on God’s goodness to us and His wonderful presence in our lives.

How can we keep the Lord’s Day holy?• We celebrate God’s goodness

through the Holy Mass.

• How can we participate in the Holy Mass?

• To explain why we should keep the Lord’s Day holy
