A Message from Nurse Rader…
Re: Medication Safety
Keep in mind that partially full bottles of prescription and non-prescription medi-cations, EPI pens, insulin, liquid preparations including albuterol solution and all other medications will NOT be sent home with scholars.
Please either pick up your child’s medication by Thurs., May 31st at 1pm or notify the nurse and she will dis-pose of the left over meds.
If your scholar has an inhal-er, it will be sent home with them at dismissal on the last day of school.
Unclaimed medications will be destroyed on Thursday, May 31st at 1:30pm.
Thank you for your assistance with this task.
STAAR Testing next week...
Scholars in Grades 3 & 4 will be administered state assessments on Mon., May 14 & Tues., May 15. 5th Grade scholars take their Science test on May 16.
Please keep in mind that NO VISITORS are allowed on campus on these dates. Lunches may be dropped off at the front office. They will be deliv-ered to scholars.
Watch for an updated lunch schedule to be sent home soon as the lunch schedule is adjusted on testing days to accommo-date a much needed break for scholars who are testing.
We appreciate your sup-port and understanding as our goal is to create a peaceful and supportive testing environment.
End of Year Wrap Up—Important Reminders
There has been report of concern-ing behaviors regarding parking lot safety as well as pick up and drop off safety.
Keep in mind that NO scholars may be picked up from the curb on Smithfield Road. All lanes are moving lanes of traffic. Please use the pick up and drop off lanes at Smithfield Road (front driveway) and/or the Green Valley Drive parking lot.
Concerns have also been shared regarding cars parked along Green Valley Drive at dismissal. While
this is not illegal, we would ask that extreme caution be used as scholars are often difficult to see and some have had near misses with cars that are pulling away.
Concerns of “road rage” types of behavior have been reported from the parking lot. Please know that the NRH Police Dept. has been notified of such behavior and this will not be tolerated.
Modeling appropriate respectful behavior in front of children is of the utmost importance. School dismisses at 3:25pm and on most

THINK BOLD in
2018
Together we build connections through innovative leadership to empower life long learners.
days everyone has been picked up by 3:40pm. This 15 minute time frame actually moves pretty fast. Please practice patience and re-spect for all drivers and scholars.
Unfortunately, scholars are being emotionally impacted by these interactions. It is truly upsetting to hear of parents and grandpar-ents behaving in such a way. Please help us keep everyone safe in the parking lot as the scholars arrive and leave every day.
Our goal is to keep everyone safe and secure. We greatly appreciate your assistance with this effort.
