E-Trips What is an e-trip? An e-trip is a

computer simulation in which you can explore and interact with a place, an idea, or an environment.

Our families have traveled around the country virtually touring national museums. Students have conducted science experiments on how to make their own ice cream to figuring out how many M&Ms should be in a bag. Our students have also learned about different careers from working at the post office to living on a cruise ship! Come and see what our families have done, virtually!!

CLUBS Book Club (K-8 and Middle

School)- Book club meets 6 times in a 2 week period. The students are assigned chapters to read the night before. Then we have open discussions during the meeting time about events, characters, and setting. We make predictions about that night’s assigned reading and the students have a chance to discuss with each other different aspects of the book.

SPIRIT WEEKSpirit Week is a time for families to show their community and the world, their school spirit! This years Spirit Week was held February 1-5, 2010. During those five days we had special themes and offered fun ideas that let families express their school spirit in a big way!

Day 1- Appreciation and InspirationDay 2- Pay it ForwardDay 3- School Somewhere Unique Day 4- I heart my school and my

virtual educationDay 5- Freaky Friday

Students sent their teachers and learning coaches thank you e-mails, donated clothes to the nearest homeless shelter, schooled in a tub, and swapped roles with their learning coach . It’s all part of Spirit Week! Party central for Spirit Week—the place where you can keep up to date with all the goings-on—will be thebigthinK¹², our online social community.
