Judges are instructed not to award ribbons unless the entry is deemed worthy. Judges will be using the
Danish System when judging and all judging is final. Each entry will be judged on its own merit rather
than in competition. Only Best of Class, Best of Show and People’s Choice will be judged in competition
with other entries. A division that has more than 15 entries will be judged as a class. Classes with less
than 10 entries will be judged with another class for Best of Class awards.
It is the responsibility of the Artist to collect any award vouchers from the Home Arts reception desk and
cash them at the Fair Office Cashier Window as soon as they are issued. VOUCHER’S WILL NOT BE
CASHED AFTER NOON ON Tuesday April 28, 2020.

SALE OF ART WORK
The Pima County Fair is proud to offer the opportunity for Art Work to be sold at the Fair. Prices must be
specific amount; no ranges or flexibility. No negotiations between the buyer and the artist for the sale
price. Purchasing of Art is on a first come and first serve basis. Buyers must complete a purchase form
and pay monies to the Entries Manager. The Fair will conduct 20% sale commission and the balance of
the purchase price will be given to the artist on entry releasing days or remitted within 30 days from the
close of the Fair. Despite being sold all Art Work must remain on display for all 11 (eleven) days of the
Fair until releasing days. All distributing of Art Work will solely be the responsibly of the Entries
Manager.

CLASS DESCRIPTION
100 Decorate a beautiful table at the Pima County Fair. Show your talent at setting a
beautiful table for everyone to see. Each participant will have one Hexagon table
to decorate. The tables are 36” round and approx. 36” high.
Tables must be decorated on Saturday, April 11, 2020 - 10:00a.m. – 3:00p.m.
Rules
● You must be 18 years or older to participate in this Division.
● Each participant must provide all the items to decorate table including the table coverings.
● Exhibitors are limited to setting one hexagon table for each entry. Setting for 2 or 4.
● A menu must be displayed with your setting.
● Non-perishable food or food models may be used for decorative purposes.
● Theme for table must be original, decorative and functional.
● Center pieces can’t block the overall view of the table or interfere with the diner’s view.

Chair type - wooden, metal, plastic, upholstered, refurbished, etc.
Chairs can be purchased, or hand made.
Be creative with paint, fabric, embellishments, themes, etc.
Chair must not exceed 2ft by 3ft in length or width.

GENERAL RULES
● No Business Cards allowed on any entries.
● Artwork must be framed and ready to hang with heavy-gauge picture wire.
● No glue of any kind can be used for getting artwork ready to hang.
● Saw Tooth hooks are not allowed.
● Tape will not be accepted.
● Canvas painting not framed must have a wire screwed into the frame.
● All entrants must be Southern Arizona residents; winter visitors are eligible and
welcome.
● Due to the family atmosphere of the Fair, Artwork deemed inappropriate or
containing nudity will not be accepted.
● The Pima County Fair and its agents assume no responsibility for loss, theft or
damage to any Artwork during the periods of receiving, displaying, releasing or
storing. Every precaution will be taken to guard against such loss or damage.
● Entries must be from an individual artist; no groups.
● All Artwork previously submitted to the Pima County Fair are prohibited.
● Entries cannot exceed 36 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 50 pounds.
● Exhibitors are responsible for determining which class and division they wish to
compete in; improperly classified entries could be disqualified with no entry fee
refund given.
● Judging is closed to the public and all judging is final.
● Due to lack of storage items not collected within 30 days will be donated or removed
from the Fairgrounds.
● Premiums / Cash Prizes will be paid to the Artist during Fair or at releasing of
Artwork.
● Entries must be recent work created within the past 2 years (April 2018 – March
2020).
● Copying work done by other Artists is an infringement of copyright law; this
includes other’s photographs.
● All Quilts are not to exceed 102 inches by 116 inches (Queen size) in length or width.

Frequently Asked Questions
When will entry forms be available and due?
Entry forms will be available online September 1, 2019. Entries deadline is March 10, 2020.
Who are the judges?
Judges are selected based on their experience within the category selected.
Why do we need to add the age of the Teen or Youth exhibitor?
Judges need to judge accurately.
How does judging work? Judging is closed to the public. After all entries have been received and displayed, they will be judged. Judging
will be based on the Danish Judging System. All the judging is final. If you are interested in becoming a judge for
the Pima County Fair, please contact Julia Heavner the Entries Manager at 520-762-9106.
When will pieces need to be delivered to the Fair? All the exhibitors are solely responsible for delivering Art Work to the Fairgrounds on Friday, April 10, 2020 3 pm
- 7 pm or Saturday, April 11, 2020 10 am - 5 pm.
Is my entry considered Fine Art or Home Art? Home Art: is a functional art, applied arts, crafts and related items. Its aimed at the homemaker, hobbyist and
group organizations.
Fine Art: is any visual art considered to have been created primarily for esthetic, and intellectual purposes and
judged for its beauty and meaningfulness. To be successful in his distinction, the Artwork must demonstrate
originality, artistic technique, and quality execution.
What are the requirements for my art exhibit? A qualifying entry must not be larger than 36 inches in any dimension or weigh more than 50 pounds. All Artwork
must be framed and wired or if unable to frame must have wire screwed into the frame, ready to hang.
How many pieces am I allowed to enter each year? Each Artist may enter a maximum of five pieces within each class. Artist is not to exceed 30 total items entered.
Where is my entry display? The Home Art Gallery is located in the Old Pueblo Conference and Event Center down the hall on the right.
How will I know if I won an award or sold my piece? Entry’s that have been placed or received with honorable mention will be displayed with the appropriate ribbon. If
you are an Artist whose piece has been sold, you will be contacted by the Entries Manager.
Will my Entry be placed on Social media or the website?
Yes, it is a possibility that if your Artwork is deemed worthy it will be published.
