Highly conditioned pigments are in action when black deflects heat: HEUCODUR®

IR pigments reflect infra-red rays and reduce the temperature in cars, buildings or

on industrial paints over a wide spectrum of colors. This opens up new creative

scope for developers, designers and engineers. Perfect in appearance, durability and

resistance, weatherproof and lightfast – the list of important properties of products

is long. With its outstandingly diverse range of »intelligent« organic and inorganic

high performance pigments and pigment preparations, Heubach offers pioneering

solutions for numerous sectors of industry – from paint, plastic and printing ink

production right up to the manufacture of latex and seeds.

In research projects in collaboration with universities, institutes and our customers,

we develop pigment innovations that not only improve the performance capabilities

of color and material; they also do not harm either health or the environment.

For example, Heubach was the first company in the world to start replacing

corrosion protection pigments that contained chromate. Our product lines use

orthophosphates, polyphosphates, organic inhibitors and wide spectrum anti-

corrosives and meet the most stringent requirements in terms of corrosion

protection. We have even developed an alternative for intense shades of industrial

and powder paint, which is free of chromate and cadmium: TICO® uses titanium

yellow pigments for outstanding purity and color intensity while ensuring cost

efficiency.

of the world‘s largest production and research centers for organic pigments, which

was founded in 1994 in Gujarat/India. Our youngest subsidiary, Hangzhou Heubach

Pigment Co., Ltd., looks after national and international customers in the Chinese

marketplace. We also respond to strong global demand by continually expanding

our production facilities in Germany, India and the USA.

The Heubach family starts its business tradition with the manufacture of decorative glasses in Germany.

The Goslarer Farbenfabrik is founded in Langelsheim, pigment production commences.

Rainer Heubach takes over the management of the company.

assuming international market leadership in this field.

The roots of our family company stretch back to the 14th century.

In the beginning, the Heubachs first manufactured decorative

glasses, then porcelain. In 1806 they founded the Goslarer Farbenfabrik and became

one of the first ever manufacturers of pigments. Ever since then, Heubach has been

keeping one step ahead of progress: The company joined forces with well-known

scientists and won numerous awards for its technological inventions. The wealth of

chemical experience gained during this process in the field of pigment production

laid the foundations for the diversification and extraordinary international growth

witnessed in the last decades.

Entry into the North American market: Acquisition of the pigment division of DuPont de Nemours

in Newark and incorporation of Heubach Inc.

Incorporation of Heucotech Ltd. in Fairless Hills, PA, USA, with production facilities for special pigments and

pigment preparations for the paint, printing ink and plastics industries.

Incorporation of Heubach Colour Pvt . Ltd. in Gujarat , India. Launch of a 7-year program to build one of the

world‘s largest research and production facilities for organic pigments and pigment preparations.

The first production site for phthalocyanine green pigments is commissioned in India.

Production capacities for corrosion protection and complex inorganic color pigments are doubled.

A pigment dispersion site is commissioned in Germany.

After a construction period of just 18 months, the newly built phthalocyanine blue crude

and synthesis system goes live in India.

Acquisition of the pigment business of Avecia (ex. ICI) and of the lightfast pigment business of Bayer AG.

Production commences in the plants for indanthrone blue and brominated phthalogreen,
