SAFE RESPONSIBLE RESPECTFUL

Donation from local business

Mrs Angela Storrier from Angela Storrier Real Estate

presented the school with a donation last week.

Mr Armstrong accepted the cheque on behalf of the school

and Mrs Susan Bradley (Principal) as Mrs Karen Latham

(P & C President) looks on. Mrs Storrier’s generous

donation will be used to continue beautifying our

playground.

Student Reports

Semester 1 student reports will be given out next

Thursday. I thank all the teachers for the time (mostly

outside school hours) and the thought, that goes into the

writing of the reports.

Dynamic Dance Troupe

Congratulations to our fabulous group of dancers who

performed beautifully last week, at the Illawarra and South

East Regional Dance Festival, in Wollongong. We are very

proud of you! It was fantastic for our troupe to perform for a

large audience, at the Performing Arts Centre and experience

professional dressing rooms and procedures.

We thank Ms Wright and Mrs Brown for their commitment in

providing this opportunity for our troupe and for devoting

lunch times to choreograph the dance and rehearse. Both

teachers have also spent many hours, outside school,

making the costumes. We are very fortunate at Wollondilly

Public School to have such dedicated staff. Thank you to the

dancers themselves, for their enthusiasm and support for

each other, in this venture.

Last but not least, a big thank you also, to the parents, for

their commitment and support. Without the parents, this

venture would not be possible.

Wonderful Environmental Working Bee

Last weekend saw a keen group of volunteers hard at work in

our bottom playground. Areas are being terraced to avoid

erosion and hide the many rocks that exist. A big thank you

to the following people for their time and effort - Mr

Armstrong, Jason Gray, Ian Davy, Graham Dunn and Mr

Crossley.

Thanks to Mr Armstrong for organising the working bee and

for feeding the workers and thank you to the P & C for

providing funds to keep their project going. Our thanks also

to “Kennards Hire” for their generous support with equipment

hire.

Congratulations & Thank You

Congratulations to the Primary Dancers who attended the Illawarra South East Schools Dance Festival in

Wollongong last week. The students performed a dance based on the Indonesian plate dance. The dance was

originally created by farmers to celebrate their harvest. Our interpretation was a cultural fusion which focused on

recognising all the special people and things we have in our own lives. The routine was titled ‘We Shine’. The

dancers definitely did shine on the stage of the IPAC Theatre. Well done everyone.

We would like to extend a very warm thank you to all parents and carers who took time out of their busy routines

to transport and supervise the dancers outside the rehearsal and performance times. We know that it is a huge

commitment. Your support is truly appreciated.

Wollondilly Concert

2013 is a Wollondilly Concert year. Term 3 will be an

especially busy term as preparations get underway.

Teachers will be asking for assistance from families

with costuming, props etc, and although there will be

many “secret surprises” to come, we can let you

know that “Wollondilly-You’re On the Air” is our

theme for the 2013 Concert.
