“HOPE IS THE ANCHOR” Hebrews 6:17-19

From the Principal’s Pen…

Hello everyone! I can’t seem to get my thoughts together today to start writ-ing. Maybe that sentence is not quite correct because I just wrote it. I do have some things on my mind but I’m not sure how to express them so they’ll have to wait. I looked up two words in the dic-tionary today. They are “humble” and “humility”. The dictionary is a great book and I use it often. My teachers at ILS taught me well because I’m a pretty good speller but I still look some words up just to be sure. Most of the time I ‘m correct, but it’s always smart to look them up! The DVD’s that I ordered for the Library came in yesterday. They can be used with the new Smart Board system we now have. They are mostly for Sci-ence and Social Studies with a few good stories also. One on Clouds is being used right now! Maybe tomorrow will be a little nicer and that class will go outside and use what they learn about the types of clouds to identify what they see in the sky. I’m sure some of us remember watching clouds on a beautiful day and trying to see special shapes. I hope chil-dren still do that! That’s God’s picture

which is better than any vid-eo game!

FOR THEIR EXAMINATION.

Standardized

Testing Week:

During the week of April 4th through 8th the students in grades 3-8 will be taking standardized testing. This is done annually to help assess the progress of students. This is just one aspect of assessment that can be used to monitor your child’s learning. You can help your student do their best by making sure that they get adequate sleep, eat a healthy breakfast and are following a regular schedule.

TUITION ASSISTANCE —

It is our goal at Immanuel, that no child should be declined a Christ-centered ed-ucation because of finances. For over 117 years, our school has made Chris-tian Education a centerpiece of it’s minis-try. In order to make this possible, it is vital that we have resources available for tuition assistance. If you would like to contribute to this fund, you can make a donation by simply putting your gift in an envelope clearly marked for Tuition As-sistance. Like any other donation to Im-manuel, this gift is tax-deductible.

Thank you!

PALM SUNDAY IS MARCH 29th!

“They took palm branches and went out to meet

him, shouting, “Hosanna!” “Blessed is he who comes

in the name of the Lord!” Blessed is the King of

Israel!” Jesus found a young donkey and sat upon it,

as it is written, “Do not be afraid, O Daughter of

Zion; see, your king is coming, seated on a

donkey’s colt.” John 12:13-15

HARVEST PACK------WHAT A SUCCESS!!!

This past Saturday, about 150 volunteers donated their time to package 38,676 meals to send to

Haiti! This was all made possible by the generous donations from members of Immanuel, the

New England District, St. Paul High School, Immanuel's Helping Ministry and Women of

Immanuel and Paint Night as well as many other groups and members of our church and

community.

These packets of food are being shipped to the Port au Prince area in Haiti. They will feed many

children in orphanages and families in this area - all in honor of Dr. Maggie Karner.

The success of this event is a testament of how we all felt about Maggie. The support and

enthusiasm has been overwhelming, Saturday was a day filled with good fellowship and much

excitement for this event.

“God's Blessings to those that donate to help others live with a little more dignity and comfort.”
