The Life Cycle of a Plant:
SPRING: In the spring the temperatures will begin to rise. The warm weather will help the frozen ground to soften. Once the ground is ready, the cycle can begin again.
SOIL: All plants need soil to grow. Soil is
important because it provides nutrients the plants need. To start they plant’s growth process, a seed is planted in the soil.
SEEDS: Seeds are small and
round, and have food and nutrients inside their hard
covering. To grow a plant, a seed
must be planted into the soil.
WATER: A plant either needs rain fall or to be watered very often to grow. Water provides the seeds with many nutrients and helps break down the soil’s nutrients.
SUN: Without sunlight, the plant cannot perform photosynthesis. Photosynthesis is when a plant takes nutrients from the soil and makes it into energy. The plant uses this energy to grow.
When the seeds are planted into the soil, they absorb water and sunlight. The
plant will then SPROUT and
continue to grow.
