Message from the Editor (...well Davros)

Hi there and welcome to the inaugural (and hopefully not last!!)........RISING SUN NEWSLETTER!!

So first things first....why a newsletter??

Well aside from my raging ego and the selfish need I have to show offmy creative skills, with an alliance our size and members logging in at different times from all over the global it can sometimes be quite tricky to keep up to date withlatest goings on in the world of Rising Sun. So I hope that through ‘ The Weather Report’ you’ll getto keep up to speed with the latest news as well as maybe get to know some of the other members of the alliance and hopefully have a few laughs along the way!!

So I hope you enjoy this and if you want to contribute then drop me a message!!

So first a word from our Chancellor........ Davros

Hi all!

As we have taken on many new members, I would like toshare the story of how Rising Sun came to be :)

Rising Sun was originally Rebel Sun a sister alliance to Rebel Star. Big John, Davros, Candee, I and a fewothers were in Rebel Rising and moved to ARBG because of lack of leadership from the chancellor of RR.But alas, we were lost in Rangers so we moved to Rebel Sun in September 2010. Many of the original

Rebel Rising members joined us in Rebel Sun!

At that point BigJohn became Chancellor of Rebel Sun as it was his original alliance and it was in a bit if disarray. As Rebel Sun came to life again, we grew into a large alliance and in the course of a few monthswent from being ranked 56th to 20th!

Rebel Sun ran into many issues with Rebel Star, so Sun decided to depart from the Rebel alliances andbecome a free standing alliance, Rising Sun!

BigJohn founded Rising Sun and most of the members from Rebel Sun made the move to Rising Sun. Aswe became comfortable in our newly named alliance, BigJohn decided to hand the reins to Davros.

Davros, aka "The Brain", did an awesome job reorganizing and implementing new procedures andprograms in Rising Sun; he is the founder of the Rising Sun forum website, open to all Sun members.Davros advanced Sun from a ranking of 20th to 16th very quickly. So, with Sun well on its way to the top10, Davros decided to step down and pass the ball to Paul.



Tired of your VCs bossing you about?

Well here’s where you can get a small measure of revenge.

Each issue we’re gonna hit our beloved VCs with a series of random questions to put them on the spot for

once. In general to allow you to get to know them a little better but also just to have a bit of fun at their

expense he he he!!........Hang on aren’t I a VC??

Anyway this issue we’re asking........

Davros: Easy choice for me. Phone is gone! I’m one of the few people I know that doesn’t actuallycarry a mobile......I think its cos I don’t have any friends that bother to actually ring me!

Candee: I would live without my internet connection, so I would choose that. :)Dude: I choose internet access!!! maybe i can cheat death and use skype or something :P

Sun is Pauls first and only alliance; a true and loyal member is he. In a matter of weeks, Paul took Sunfrom a ranking of 16th to 14th!

After his successful gain in the ranks, Paul handed the Chancellorship to Horn.

Horn continued to maintain our ranking of 14th and implemented Suns first 'in house' war practice. Horn,being a quiet yet productive Chancellor of Sun decided to pass the Chancellorship to me and return to hisquiet but dangerous persona.

So, here I am, Suns newest Chancellor. Lol, and it didn’t take long for our first "real" war to follow!

Many of you were hit and lost much if not all that you had. Yet, instead of giving up, you shrugged it off and started rebuilding. Y'all, not the Chancellor, are the heart and soul of Rising Sun and it is my honourand heartfelt gratitude to be your Chancellor.

Rising Sun is truly the best alliance in Badon172 no matter what our rank! Each one of you ranks #1 withme!

Well..... wow!!

What an exciting couple of weeks it has been!!

There’s been so much going on its difficult to know where to start.

NEW MANAGEMENT

Firstly, as you no doubt already know we’ve had a change in management! LeslieofNC has finally takenon the role she was born to do as our Glorious Leader!!

For those of you new to the alliance Leslie is one of our longest standing members and has been part of the leadership set up since the days of Rebel Sun!! She has worked harder that anyone else I know to get

this place up and running as a stable top 20 alliance and knows this place like the back of her hand (quitehow she does it on only about 2 hours sleep a day I’ll never know)!! So brace yourself for some fun timesahead cos Leslie is a serious playaa! (See ‘A Place in the Sun for more on Les!!)

Now I hope you’ll all join me in thanking Hornlip for the hard work he put in during his spell in chargeand he will continue to act as VC within the new leadership team that Les has put together. There will besome new roles and developments for people so watch this space.

WAR!!

Now one of the first things Les wanted to do when she took over was to get involved in a good old

fashioned ding dong battle. This is a war game after all so why not have some fun with it! And just as wewere discussing targets along come Onyx Phoenix Posse to make our minds up for us!!

WELL YOU WANNA A WAR YOU GOTTA WAR!!! GRRRRR!!!

And what a war it was!!

We’ve had it all. High drama, comedy, clever tactics, traps, the return of old friends and not to mentionbloodshed!! Talk about entertainment!!

It was a very even contest with the high might players of O.P.P. facing off against the cumulative mightand teamwork of Rising Sun and when the dust settled it would seem that honours were even. Losses

would seem to be fairly spread on both sides though sadly Onyx Posse did sneak ahead of us in thealliance chart but with Les spiriting us along and another alliance deciding to take a bite out of OPP thenatural order of things has been restored!

Lessons were learned and everyone we think got good experience out of it and hopefully at the sametime had a lot of fun......well that is with the possible exception of the O.P.P. player OFLORDS.....what canyou say.....poor guy!!

I’m not sure whether he was just plain unlucky or was simply following a tactical guide written by aseriously depressed lemming. I’ve not seen such a blatant disregard for ones welfare since Tiger Woodsnipped out for a sec leaving his wife with his mobile phone and a set of golf clubs!!!



Special mention also goes to our former member Desert Eagle, who appeared from nowhere, stridingfrom a cloud of smoke like Arnie in Terminator 2 to save the day! He arrived baring the KOC equivalent of a minigun and decimated a city that had left many a RS player slamming their keyboards in frustration!

Cheers bud we’re very grateful!!

Anyway all the leaders want to say is how fantastically well you guys did.

It’s quite easy to panic and go to pieces when those red warning lights start flashing but you performedbrilliantly and managed to do some serious damage!!

Even the chancellor of our opponent praised your effort which, from a 15 million might player, is praiseindeed! Its not often that two alliances form an actual friendship rather than a diplomatic agreement as a

result of a war, but I think in this case I think we just might have!

REMEMBER IF YOU NEED ANY RESOURCES TO REBUILD PLEASE ASK! - Don’t forget you can queue yourtroop builds. So feel free to ask for resources so you can have numerous troops constantly beingproduced even when you’re offline!

So I was looking for someone with enough credto do a review article for the newsletter andwas wracking my brains for someone to askwhen a figure appeared, he kicked thenearest jukebox into gear, stuck histhumbs up at me and said ‘Heeeeyyy!!’......... so I said to him ‘Paul mate, do you think Dudewill write a review?’

127 hours

Now i first saw the trailer on the telly and Inoticed that it was by the Oscar winning director Danny Boyle! The film is about AronRalston and his adventure driven lifestyle andhow he manages to get his hand stuck under arock. Needless to say he stayed stuck for 127 hours, during his time stuck under the rock he displays monologue looking back on his life.Now i wont say much more about plot to spoilthe film for you.

The beginning of the film was beautiful, the cinematography is mind blowing! It has has theperfect ingredients for a good film... one awesome plot, the role of Aron Ralston was captured perfectly through James Franco and the well thought out plot kept me engagedthrough out the film!

The only downside was the middle of the film, where not much happened and you sit therethinking... 'come on dude, move it already!'

But because of the great plot, cinematography and epic start and end, I am giving 127 hours 4 stars!

I really recommend it to those who can suck it up and watch a film longer then 2 hours and also adventure lovers and Danny Doyle fans .
