“The Adventures of X” is a collection of poetry by JRR Tolkien published in 1962 that have some of the poems featured in the Middle Earth universe.

Why the strange name?

There are many wars that are said to be the inspirations behind “A song of Ice and Fire” – the Hundred Years War, the Crusades, and the most often cited one being the Wars of Roses.

The Wars of the Roses were dynastic wars between the House of Lancaster and the House of York, which finally ended with Lancastrian Henry Tudor, or Henry VII defeating Yorkist Richard III and marrying Yorkist Elizabeth. This united the two clans and established the House of Tudor.
