and Neurotransmitters
• Subtle Body – Channels, Complexes, Winds,
and Drops

Features of the Subtle Body
• 72,000 subtle channels or pathways (nadis)
• 7 complexes or hubs (chakras)
• 5 types of winds (vayu) upon which consciousness is
carried like horse and rider
• 2 types of drops (bindu) - male and female - of
energetic bliss.
Three Main Channels
Right Channel
• Pingala Nadi
• Red, Solar, Extroverted, Active, Masculine, Warming
• Inhailing through the right nostril activates the left brain
associated with analysis, logic, language, details, focal
attention, and sympathetic activation - fight or flight.
• Exhaling out of the left nostril expels fear-based clinging/
attachment
Left Channel• Ida Nadi
• White, Lunar, Introverted, Passive, Feminine, Cooling.
• Inhaling through left nostril activates right brain associated
with emotions, symbols, memory, dreams, course body,
intuition, scanning awareness and primitive vegus nerve -
freeze responses.
• Exhaling through right nostril expels defensive hostility/
aversion.
Central Channel
• Shushumna Nadi
• Blue
• After alternating, inhaling through both nostrils balances
and activates both brain hemispheres and is associated with
connection, communication, contentment, relaxed arousal
and smart vagal tone.
• Exhaling through both nostrils expels misperception/
delusion of separateness.
