It is hard to believe in two months a new Lodge year will begin already. I would like to take the time to thank everyone for all the great events we had dur- ing the month of December. Starting with our Annual Vet- erans dinner on December 5th. Thank you to Caroline Connors for chairing the event. Additionally, to all the volunteers who came out to help. We couldn’t have done it without you. We also had some sponsors of the event who provided donations: Don & Del Cyr, ADR Security, Tim & Laura Fournier, New England Chrome Plating, Glastonbury Oil, Gardiner’s Market, and Katz Hardware. On December 11th, we held the Christmas Party for Camp Sunrise, and I’d like to thank all the members who purchased gifts, which Santa was able to give to the kids. I’d like to thank Jory Pagliughi for chairing the event this year. I would like to thank the Sikorski family, Donna Walstedt, Jim Zocco, and Carmine Esposito for their donation to the event. Jory, has a few words he’d like to express. “Days like these are precious. I am not only the chair person for this event, but I am happy for those people who stepped up for this event. I consid- er them all to be chair people. I would like to thank the Sikorski family for their very generous gift to the event, and to the Town of Glastonbury for the use of their fire truck, and to Dave Thurz and Bruce Motowidlak for taking the time to bring it here, and the Claus family. I’d like to end this by saying having a happy, healthy and safe holiday, and God Bless you all!” On December 4th the hall was decorated for all these events, along for the holiday season, and I’d like to thank all those members who came out to make it a fun day! On the 18th, we held our Annual Member’s Christmas party and had a smorgasbord of food! Thank you to all the members who came out and celebrated with us, and to the House Committee for provid- ing plenty of liquid refresh- ments at no charge! Looking forward to the 20th of this month, the House Volume No. 17, Issue No. 1 - January Edition Hours of Operation Mon.–Thur. 4 PM – 8 PM Friday 4 PM – 10 PM Saturday Noon – 9 PM Sunday Noon – 7 PM Permittee: Ken Mac Murtry glastonburyelks.org Committee will be hosting an- other Friday Night dinner with Steak and Cheese. ELK OF THE MONTH Frank Morway Frank shows up to all the din- ners we hold, and has won nu- merous times on the 50-50 raf- fle, and donates the money back to the lodge for our vari- ous dinners, or charities. H appy New Year eve-

ryone! It is hard to

believe in two

months a new Lodge year

will begin already.

I would like to take the

time to thank everyone for all

the great events we had dur-

ing the month of December.

Starting with our Annual Vet-

erans dinner on December

5th. Thank you to Caroline

Connors for chairing the

event. Additionally, to all the

volunteers who came out to

help. We couldn’t have done

it without you. We also had

some sponsors of the event

Breakfast Committee

We continue to have stellar support from the members and their families attending break-fast! I’d like to thank you all!

We’ve added a few new items, such as breakfast sand-wiches made to order, along with a new potato dish (thanks to Louise Beeghly)!

Our next breakfast will be January 8th, and we should then be back on our regular schedule of every two weeks. See you there!

Of course I’d like to thank all the volunteers who showed up to support this breakfast, and they are: Mark Curtin, Doug and Louise Beeghly, Mike Bryan, David Poulin, Lisa Darby, Chris Ackerman, Sherry Perleoni, and Mike “Dudz” Dudzinski.

By-Law Change

At the regularly scheduled meeting of December 21, 2016, a motion was made, and tabled to be considered at the regularly scheduled meeting of January 25, 2017.

Article X FEES AND DUES Currently reads: Section 1. The fee for initiation in this Lodge for an appli-cant shall be $50.00, $25.00 to accompany the proposi-tion, and the balance to be paid when the candidate pre-sents himself for initiation. To be changed to: The fee for initiation in this Lodge for an applicant shall

be $150.00, $50.00 to accompany the proposition, the

balance to be paid when the candidate presents them-

selves for initiation.

From the Secretary’s Desk

Now with the holiday’s behind us, our meet-

ings will resume to the 2nd and 4th Wednes-

day of the month.

Additionally, during the month of January,

dues notices will be going out to all members for the 2017-

2018 Lodge year. They are due prior to April 1st. As men-

tioned in a previous update, regular members dues, and

fees, will be $119.00. For our Life Members, their total dues

and fees will be $44.00.
