Our Vision
A safe learning environment where students are empowered: with the skills to question; the desire to improve; the will to persevere and develop resilience; to inspire each other to be the best they can be.
ENGAGE EXPERIENCE EMPOWER
Week 8 is upon us already and the end of year is nigh. We still have so much to do so it is important that we all stay focussed on our standards of behaviour, work ethic and presentation. With that in mind, I respectfully ask that all parents and carers ensure that they are sending their child to school in school uniform. Clothing such as board shorts, leggings, denim cut off shorts
and branded t-shirts are not part of the school uniform. The School Dress Code Policy can be found on our new website (www.grovelandsps.wa.edu.au). Go to parent information, click on uniform and you will be able to download our School Dress Code.
Week 7 was another massive week in our busy Term 4 program. In addition to their regular curriculum students were actively engaged in the following events: Diwali Celebration – Students engaged with members of our Indian Community in celebrating India's 'Festival
of Lights'. Crime Prevention Launch – Year 5/6 students participated in a half day of activities with former West Coast
Eagle Daniel Kerr, and current Perth Glory and Matildas star Sam Kerr - 2018 Young Australian of the Year. You may have seen our school featuring on Channel 7 News and in Friday’s West Australian newspaper.
P&C Disco – our P&C and staff banded together to provide 2 fun Discos for our students. Thank you to all our
community and staff volunteers on the night. This week, students have the wonderful opportunity to go on a free excursion to the Literature Centre in Fremantle. I hope all parents and carers got their child’s permission slip back to their teacher. It would be a shame for students to miss this excellent opportunity. As I said at the beginning of the article our new website is finally online. As it new, there are still some updates that have to be completed but I urge you all have a look at it. Go to www.grovelandsps.wa.edu.au. It looks great and has proved easy to navigate in our trial runs. Our website will add another layer in our efforts to communicate with you, complementing this newsletter and our Grovelands SkoolBag App. Kind Regards Mark Bradshaw.
