Sir James Wilson Memorial Park. Marton

    15, 16, 17 January 2021

  • Message from the Convenor:

If you are a country music fan or just a live music fan, the Marton Country Music Festival is the must-see event of the summer. The festival will be taking place from the 15th to the 17th of January at Sir James Wilson Park in Marton, and this year is set to be the best to date. Currently in its 16th year, the festival has grown from strength to strength and is now one of the most anticipated Country events around New Zealand and a huge event for Marton and the Rangitikei District. The Festival is a non-profit event run for community purposes to encourage and pro-mote Country Music and local artists, as well as family participation. It is an event which is attended by all age groups and ethnicities. The organisers and helpers are all volunteers. It is a top of the line event with a very professional presentation. Over its many years of running people have arrived from all over New Zealand and the world. A very large contingent of Motor Homers, Caravanners and Campers make it a very important event on their calendar for the year. The event brings many people to Marton and the surrounding area. The festival will once again feature a stellar line-up of artists, with this year being a very special New Zealand Showcase line up due to the Covid 19 pandemic. Artists will be coming from the length and breadth of Aotearoa. This year has had its challenges, not the least of them COVID 19 and the resulting lockdown. However this year we are able to bring to you The Marton Country Music Festival 2021 – which is a great chance to experience the strongest voices in the New Zealand Country Music scene and beyond. There’s open mic sessions, singalongs, and more, so bring the kids for some good family and community fun! We do ask that you still be aware of any COVID 19 procedures as you do anywhere else. Most of all have a great weekend and have fun!

    John de Burgh

The Marton Country Music Festival committee takes the health, safety, and welfare of our audiences, artists, and all of our staff very seriously. In light of the recent COVID-19 outbreaks across the world, and on the advice of the NZ Ministry of Health we have been implementing some additional health and safety procedures across the Festival as a precaution.

A QR code to enable contact tracing will be available to scan at various areas around the festival. If you do not have the COVID tracer app on your phone you can still manually record your attendance at the gate.

Hand sanitizing stations will be available at various areas around the festival grounds

We ask that those feeling unwell or those who have been asked to self-isolate stay at home and do not attend.
