Childhood Rafael was born in Manacor( Balearic islands) on

third of June 1986 His uncle Miguel Nadal is a professional

footballer, who played for FC Barcelona and Spanish national team

His other uncle, Toni Nadal, a professional tennis player, introduced boy to tennis when Rafa was 3

When Rafael was just 8 he won a regional tennis championship for children under 12

At that time Nadal was an extremely promising footballer as well

Rafael is  ambidextrous. He plays tennis with the left hand and writes with right

His uncle Toni convinced Rafa to play with left-hand as it is a natural advantage

At the age of 12 won a lot of titles in his age group in Spain and Europe and after that decided to focus on tennis and stop his football trainings

Refused to move to Barcelona and America as he wanted to prove that it is possible to become a pro in his home town

Became professional at the age of 15 In 2003 was recognized as Newcomer of the

year award by Association of Tennis Professionals

There are four major tournaments in tennis They are: Australian Open, Roland Garros,

Wimbledon and US Open They offer the most ranking points and

prize money The biggest possible achievements in

Charity The Rafa Nadal Foundation was created in

November 2007 to help socially discriminated children and teenagers

 Its contribution permits the offer of a better lifestyle to young persons all over the world

 Nadal said "This can be the beginning of my future, when I retire and have more time i am doing very well and I owe society

Assisted in the transformation of one of the poorest and most needy areas of India, Andhra Pradesh where he opened his tennis academy
