Hey NYDKC Treasurers!

I hope you’re all having a great summer right now!

Summer is the time to relax from your school work, but there

is always something Key Club related to do! For example,

you can attend Summer club events and you can think

about what you wish to accomplish during the next school

year.

Please check the fundraising progress of your club to

make sure that there are no errors. You can view the

spreadsheet here. Don’t forget to send in any missing FRFs

or proofs. I recommend fundraising for the Alzheimer’s Asso-

ciation, JDRF, or Wounded Warriors.

You can view my newly released “A Treasurer’s How-

To: Plan, Complete, and Report a Fundraiser” here and “A

Treasurer’s How-To: Membership Dues” here to have some

of your questions about the two processes answered, but

please feel free to ask me any questions.

I am looking forward to working with you all and even

meeting some of you in person! See you all later!

Yours forever in service,

Alexander Mok

s Water Balloon Toss

Have a tournament where contestants

avoid being hit by a water balloon and

where they must toss balloons at other

contestants. The last one or team standing

wins a prize.

Powder Puff Football

The girls put on uniforms and play a foot-

ball game, and the boys lead the cheers!

The novelty of this idea will attract a large

crowd. Sell refreshments and charge ad-

mission.

Bake Sale Sell homemade cookies, cup

cakes, and other goodies at

your local sports game or

other function. Decorate your

baked goods to fit the event.

Barbecue Dinner Food usually can be secured wholesale.

This is a great event to have Key Clubbers

socialize and to keep them fed. Charge

admission fee if they do not bring food.

Chili Cook-Off

Organize a chili cook-off to raise funds.

You should involve your Kiwanis club to

help plan, because this is a project that

requires a lot of work and assistance.

Activity Board

Buy an activity board for the

school. Announce all school

activities, sports events, and

other events by selling advertis-

ing space.

Back to School Sale

Sell school supplies like notebooks, loose

leaf paper, pens, pencils, and other nec-

essary items.

Summer Olympics

Organize multiple sports events where ad-

mission is charged to compete. The person

in first place in each event can earn a

prize.

Lemonade Stand

Open a lemonade stand and

charge a quarter for every cup

of lemonade.

Below you will find a breakdown of how every club member’s dues are used. The

money is never gone to waste, and it is important to tell current and prospective

members where their money is going.

For the 2013 – 2014 service year, dues will be $12.50 in addition to the optional

$1 – $3 that each club can add. The breakdown of dues is shown below.

International New York District Your Club

$6.50 $6.00 $1.00 – $3.00

• International Website www.keyclub.org

• International Board Meetings • Governor and Administrator Training Conference • Resources (posters, public relations tools) • Pins and Membership Cards • District Support • Awards (scholarships, distinguished officers, etc.) • International Convention • Other Expenses

• District Website www.nydkc.org

• Board Meetings • District/Club Awards • District Officer Materials (pins, resources, etc.) • Leadership Training Conference • Other Expenses

• Events (parties, fundraisers, etc.) • Club Website • Meeting Supplies • Supplies for Projects • Support to Attend LTC • Kiwanis Club Visits • Club Awards • Other Expenses

I hope to have more clubs earn the Early Bird Dues Patch for this service year.

Please check out my How-To guide for dues for detailed steps on submitting dues

and for a recommended timeline of completed actions. Click here to view my

dues guide on Issuu.

I will also create a chart to note which clubs have paid dues for the service year

and when so that all Lieutenant Governors can remind their clubs to submit dues.
