Remove factory rear bumper and trim fender flares (Step 1A)
Bolt the passenger side frame bracket on (Step 3A)
1 Get organized and verify all parts are present.
Remove the rear bumper and mud flaps - including the plastic rear bumper corner pieces and aluminum tread plate. Refer to the factory service manual if necessary.
Remove all brackets and bolts from rear cross member.
Cut the fender flares as indicated in the picture. If desired, cut around the thread-ed portion. This way you can trim the mud flap, and bolt it back on to sit flush be-tween the fender flares and the bumper.
Note: Remove tow hitch if equipped (Photo 1A)
2 Remove the exhaust bracket.
Remove the four 8mm bolts that attach
the rear muffler to the passenger side
frame rail. Reference (Photo 2A) that indi-
cates one of the bolt locations.
3 Attach the passenger side bracket.
Bolt bracket to the passenger side rear frame rail using M8 x 35mm flange bolts, and M10 thick washer for the exhaust bracket and M12 x 45mm bolt, lock wash-er and flat washer underneath.
The bracket slips between the frame and
the exhaust bracket. Don’t tighten at this
time. (Photo 3A)
Hint: Passenger Bracket has a notch to go
over the exhaust

slide back and forth.
Once adjusted, tighten all the bolts start-
ing with the M12’s closest to the rear of
the bumper shell and frame. (Picture 9A)
Tighten the M12 bolts holding the passen-

sition of the tire mount.
Slide the tire and tire mount until it is
touching the carrier. Mark the position of
the tire mount on the tire bracket. Remove
tire and then shift the tire mount 1/8”
closer to the carrier from the mark you
just made. This will ensure enough contact
to keep the tire stable. (Photo 21A) Rein-

Connect license plate light wiring to vehicle (Step 23B)
Install license plate (Step 24A)
23 Wire license plate light.
Use the supplied butt connectors and extra wire to extend the wire for the license plate light. The brown wire on the license plate light is the power wire.
Run the harness along the inside of the carrier arm. Supplied 10-32 screws and clips will secure the harness to the inside of the arm.
The harness is then routed through the slot between the bumper and the body. Install over the frame ( to the factory con-nector as shown (Photo 23B - “A”).
Using a DMM (Digital Multi-Meter) confirm which position on the connector has 12V+ when the lights are turned on. Its recom-mend to solder this connection and use heat shirk or electrical tape.
Locate the grounding bolt in the center of the truck and connect light ground to here. (Photo 23B - “B”).
Secure the harness using zip ties and veri-fy the operation of the LED license plate light.

25 Install the swing arm gas struts
and test operation. Remove the
clips (Photo 25A)
If you wish to remove the locking fea-
ture, unthread the socket and remove
the locking sleeve.
The strut length may need to be adjusted
to fit from ball stud to ball stud. The
length is adjusted by adding a M6 washer
between the socket and strut body
The swing arm should make contact with
the rubber bumper just before the strut
locks out. You can adjust the stopper or
the strut length to achieve this
Ideally the swing arm will need a light
push to lock out.
Be sure to position the red “Lock” so that
it is easy to push (Photo 25B).
26 Mounting the Hi-Lift Jack
Place the Jack into the bracket ash show.
The curved part of the clamp goes around
the handle.
Make sure that the running gear of the
jack is near the bottom of the jack. This is
so the clamp doesn't clamp down on the
handle socket.
Stowe the jack with the reversing latch in
the upright position.
Hardware:
2– Slee Hi-Lift clamps

Adjusting for proper fit.
Test fitment of the swing arms by opening
and closing them gently a few times.
Items that are adjustable:
If the pin is not riding up the striker pad
properly you can add an M10 thick washer
just below the pin handle.
Swing arm bearing preload: adjust preload
by tightening or loosening the castle nut
on the bearings. The strut should open the
arm slowly when enough preload is
achieved
Striker height: adjust striker height by
shimming the striker up or down. When
the carriers are fully loaded there should
be a .0”- .060” (0-4 business cards thick)
gap between the striker and swing arm.
If more than 1 shim is needed under the
striker pad, an additional washer may
need to be placed under the pin handle
(M10).
Handle effort may be adjusted by length-
ening or shortening the U-Bolt on the han-
dle.
Adjust the U-bolt equally on both sides.
The tension may change slightly after
tightening the bottom jam nut.
Wedges should be adjusted so that there
is no movement in the swing arms after
latching. Also, both rubber bump stops on
the swing arms should be in contact with
the bumper face.
Hardware: 2- Gas Struts
2- M10 Thick Washers
