Overview: What is skinput?• Skinput is a joint

collaboration between: Chris Harrison Dan Morris Desney Tan

• Touch-screen gadgets h become popular due to advantages they come with

• Skinput turns the body into a touch-screen interface

What skinput does?• Skinput allow simple

tapping for: Playing game Video & control audio

device Making Calls ,

navigation & browsing

• Sensors find the location of tap

• Each part of body creates different types of variations depending on the features of bones, muscle and tension

How Skinput works?Pico – Projector• A very small projector , basically used in gadgets• Eg . Spice popcorn (mobile cum projector)

What are Bio – Acoustics?• Study of sound wave

inside living body

• When a finger taps the skin , several distinct forms of acoustic energy are produced

Longitudinal wavesTransverse waves

• Whole concept is based on wave theory

Bio-Acoustics : Sensing• These signals travels through our muscles and bones and

need to be sensed and worked upon

• This is done by wearing a wave sensor armband on our biceps

• Distance can be reduced or as required

• Setting can be made for better display in day and night both

• Blind people can also use

Disadvantages• Accuracy degrade with time

• Obsessed body decrease its accuracy

• Armband may slip on wearing too long

• Not affordable for common people

Conclusion• Working is still not crystal clear

• factors like performance, price ,compatibility etc need second thought

• Technology applications vast and need to investigate yet

• Reported that it will not be used for commercial purpose yet

• Microsoft commitment is still a big question

• But still it will bring a Promising and revolutionary change in technology
