FeastWe moved the Alpha Team Feast to a later date due to the significant number of Kevin Kingers at Cross Country Camp. This led to a bit of confusion as apparently, not everyone checks Facebook on a daily basis anymore. A fair number of people did show up and although we were a little underprepared (no grill, no utensils) we did have plenty of food and turned it into a really fun event.

After a grueling two hour workout we gathered outside around a spread of chicken, ribs, roast beef, baked beans and fruit. Mostly finger food, except the beans. But Erik Risa solved this problem quickly, whipping out a stack of cups and suggesting we “drink” the beans. We laughed. But the delicous smell wafting from the crock pot enticed us to give Erik’s idea a try. We sat in a circle eating meat with our fingers and drinking beans from cups. SUCCESS! Then Erik had another great idea, to feed Kinori

Rosnow beans while he worked out, mostly for the picture (seen above.)

“My favorite part of working out would be the feeling afterwards, when you feel like you could take on the entire world. Dancing in between exercises is fun too . The workouts have definitely helped me with the sports I play, and it helps me de-stress from school or whatever else happens to be going on.”

“I started going to Kevin King workouts the begin-ning of summer 2012. Well during that summer, by combining a healthy diet and Kevin's intense conditioning program, I lost 50 pounds in 3 months. Now I train through a combination of powerlifting, Crossfit, bodybuilding and Olympic lifting.”

WHat is BPA? Bisphenol A found in lots of products, from clothing to plastic bags. Most notably, there

is often bpa in waterbottles, unless a label states otherwise

Why is it harmful? Contains “hormone-altering chemicals known as phthalates...A 2012

literature review by 12 prominent scientists found “substantial evidence” that hormone-altering chemicals are

damaging, even at minute doses. BPA, the most studied estrogen-mimicking compound, has been linked to a

long list of maladies, including to asthma, cancer, infertility, low sperm count, heart disease, liver problems, and

ADHD. In some cases, the effects appear to be handed down, meaning the chemical reprograms an individual’s

genes and causes disease in future generations.”
