The Battle of Lexington and Concord happened on April 19, 1775. That was the beginning of the

American Revolutionary war.

After the Battle of Lexington and Concord the redcoats had 73 killed, 174 wounded, and 26

missing. The colonists had 49 killed, 39 wounded, and five missing.

Why Is It “The Shot Heard Around the World”?The term “The Shot Heard Around the World” is from the poem “Concord Hymn” penned by Ralph Waldo Emerson. The opening stanza of the poem reads: “By the rude bridge that arched the flood/Their flag to April’s breeze unfurled/Here once the embattled farmers stood/And fired the shot heard round the world.”

The Capture of Fort TiconderogaFort Ticonderoga was located on Lake Champlain in northeastern New York. The Capture of Fort Ticonderoga took place on May 10, 1775. Benedict Arnold, Ethan Allen, and the Green Mountain boys of Vermont planned a dawn attack on the fort. They captured the british garrison. The capture of fort ticonderoga was the first victory for the americans in the revolution.

Battle of Bunker HillThe Battle of Bunker Hill happened on June 17, 1775. The battle happened in Massachusetts. The british won the battle but the colonists inflicted significant casualties to the British. That gave the colonist a important confidence booster.
