APOSTACY AND THE RICHES OF HIS GRACE

In the book of Romans chapter 11, Paul makes anastonishing statement concerning Israel who he is from. He

asks this great question, Have they stumbled that theyshould fall? God forbid: but rather through their fallsalvation is come unto the Gentiles for to provoke them to

jealousy. (12) Now if the fall of them be the riches of the

world, and the diminishing of them the riches of the

Gentiles; how much more their fullness? Truly God is aGod of incredible wisdom who knows all things frombeginning to end from before the foundations of the world.Truly He is working all things after the great purpose that all

things should be for Jesus Christ.If one in reading the Old Testament places the word churchevery place where one sees the word Israel, there can trulycome astonishing revelation. Paul by the Holy Spirit taught

us that we are to look to what happened to Israel as anensample of what we are to learn from and totally avoid.Israel fell to idolatry. Israel fell to spiritual and physicaladultery. Israel was destroyed because of its apostasy. Yet to

we who are the church of the Living God, what happened tothem in apostasy is used to establish the church in grace. Aswe grow in that grace and that grace becomes somethingrich in us, we can begin to discover the hope of the calling

of Jesus Christ. We can begin to realize that the church isnot for man but rather for Jesus Christ, and knowing Him inthe riches of His glory is how He inherits the hope of Hiscalling from us. Truly His call must be our call.

ISRAEL, THE CORPORATE TREE OF LIFE

The Apostle Paul compares Israel to a corporate tree. Godsees Israel in a corporate fashion. Perhaps this is bestillustrated in the life of Moses after God gave Moses threesigns to show Israel that He was with him. The signs were:

(1) Moses rod becoming a serpent to devour Egyptsserpents, (2) Moses leprous hand being drawn from hisbosom, and (3) the water being turned into blood. These areall significant shadows of how satans seed, by nature in us,must be swallowed up into the wood of the Cross of Jesus

following of our hearts instead of His perfect will. Wecannot produce a hand consumed by leprous apostasy born

of touching our hearts. It also illustrates the need of a secondbirth, not by the natural water of a womans womb, but by

the will of God displayed by the Blood of Jesus. Out ofthese signs, God commanded Moses to address Pharaoh in away that displayed a corporate fashion. In Exodus 4:22 weread: Thus saith the Lord, Israel is my son, even my

firstborn. God calls the nation He brings from Egypt Hisson.In like fashion, Paul by the Holy Spirit compares Israel to a tree.This is confirmed throughout the Scriptures. The coming Messiahof Israel was the Seed that crushed satans head, manifest as theSeed of Abraham. The coming Messiah would be the Root ofJesse, who would sit upon the throne of David for all of eternity.

The Root would become the Olive Tree filled with the fatness orriches of His grace through Israel to the nations of the world. Hewould be the Branch of Zechariah through which the Fruit of theSpirit would abide in those joined to Him and the leaves of Hisgrace would heal the nations. Sadly, Israel by the law failed to

fulfill Gods purpose. Gods purpose however would not beoverthrown by Israels failure, but established in Gods wisdom.

THE WILD OLIVE TREEBecause of Israels apostasy, God took the wild olive treeborn of the seed of satan, and took wild branches and graftedthem into the Tree of Life we know as Israel. The Scripturesby the Holy Spirit teach us that we are no longer strangers tothe Commonwealth of Israel. We the wild branches of theGentile nations, in the mystery of His grace, have becomegrafted into Israel by the life of Jesus Christ who is GodsTree of Life. To take on His nature and to eat of His fleshand drink of His blood is to manifest eternity.Paul exhorted that we were not to boast against the naturalbranches that were broken off in apostasy so that we, thewild branches, could be grafted in. They were broken offbecause of unbelief, and we are warned that the same fatecould await us if we follow their example of apostasy.

Sadly, history has taught us that in many instances thechurch has followed Israel into the blindness of apostasy.Paul warned that we are not to boast because it is the root ofthe tree that bears us and not our own cunning devises. It is

only because Jesus like a kernel of wheat fell into theground and died, becoming the root of salvation that hasgrown in us that we are established. We must become a likekernel of wheat in His image, called to die and bring forthHis likeness. Paul warns us very strongly to not be highminded but fear.

THE GOODNESS AND SEVERITY OF GODThe Holy Spirit through Paul also cries out to us to beholdthe goodness and severity of God. On them which judgment

fell, severity, but towards us who are grafted in followingapostasy, His goodness. Truly we have been cut out of theolive trees of nations, wild by nature to God. Our roots were

not in the Israel of God but in the false image of Babylon,the dominating power of Greece, and the global authority ofRome. Our roots were in witchcraft, vain philosophy, andfoolishness. Because Jesus bled, and His side was rippedopen by the spear, He has grafted us into His broken heart ofintercession, and brought us to His side by the Spirit oftruth. He has washed us with the water of His Word, andgrafted us by a Seed incorruptible. We have been born againof the incorruptible Word of God.

IGNORANCE OR MYSTERYThere is a very great truth, and listen with the ear of yourspirit very intently. For this grafting into Israel to replace

apostasy is a great mystery that has been hidden in Godfrom before the foundations of the world, but now mademanifest in the church provoking Israel to jealousy. We areexhorted not to be ignorant of this mystery, but to make mensee the mystery of our fellowship. To be ignorant of this

mystery is to bring about a wisdom that is based upon theconceits of the self-life of Adam. The Apostle Paul warnedus that this is the blindness that happened unto Israel. Israelbecame blind to the mystery of sonship that produces a bridefor the Bridegroom the Lord Jesus Christ. This sameblindness can happen to the church and has happened to thechurch throughout history. It is happening in the church inthe greatest of fashion as I write this.

THE COUNTER-MYSTERY OF BLINDNESSThere is a blindness that happened unto Israel and nowhappens unto the church. It is the blindness that prevents usseeing the counter-mystery; the mystery of iniquity. Thismystery of iniquity always comes by satan stealing theWord and producing another messiah after man. Satanhimself was the first Torah violator of blindness when hesucceeded in having Eve leave the Tree of Life for the Treeof the Knowledge of Good and Evil. The choice made Adam

to be separated from life and joined to death.The second great Torah violator was Balaam who taught theenemies of Israel to send forth idolatrous, adulterous womento seduce Israel to other gods. This cost this prophet who

knew the true Word of God his life. His life is a warning tothose who use the Word of God for money or their ownpurposes. The last great Torah violator will be the anti-christhimself who will be energized from within the church ofJesus Christ by the Torah violators who change theScriptures and steal the Word to release another gospel,another spirit, and another Jesus. There is another Jesus,uncrucified, who is even now in the midst of the church. Thechurch is blind to his existence. Men are blind to this

because the blindness that happened unto Israel hashappened unto the church.

When Moses was upon the mount of revelation, receivingthe law and observing the eternal tabernacle of God, the

children of Israel were energized by what they took from theworld of Egypt. They were energized by the gold of Egypt.When they threw the gold in the fire and the molten imagecame forth, as Aaron described, this became their god. They

made their actions to appear as the working of God. Aaronscomment was, Tomorrow is a feast to the Lord. (Exodus32:5) The blindness of calling something completely foreignto God, god, is an incredible blindness. The blindness oftaking the things of this world and making them into animage and calling it god is a terrible blindness. This is the

blindness that overtakes the church today.GODS ANSWER: THE DEPTHS

The Apostle Paul would write in Romans 11:33, O thedepth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of

God! How unsearchable are his judgments, and his ways

past finding out! Please notice the words the depth ofriches, the depth of wisdom, and the depth of the knowledge

of God. The answer to all apostasy is to manifest the depthand its mystery and to utter it. Not in the cunning devisedwords of men, but in the depths of His wisdom. Paul prayedfor an utterance in this wisdom. This mystery was hidden

until Jesus opened His mouth and uttered parables. It was at

that time that that which was hidden in Gods heart andmind from before the foundations of the world wouldmanifest. One of the parables of His mystery concerns thewheat and tares growing up together until the time of theend. Wheat and tares look identical until the time rightbefore harvest. At that time tares are full of poison and theystand up straight and will not bow and move with the wind.When contrasting the wheat and tares, we discover thatwheat before harvest bows and moves with the moving ofthe wind. There is a lesson in this for us. We must betouched with the wind of the Living Gods sovereignty aswe behold His severity and goodness in the blindness of

apostasy and in the revelation of His grace that opens theeyes of His church abiding in the mystery of His fellowship.

SUFFERING: GODS MEANS TO THE DEPTHSIn times past there was an industry of pearl divers. The pearldivers had to develop their lungs because they would have toswim into depths that would require them to be under theocean water for sometimes up to ten minutes. To reach theoyster, their bodies had to suffer the deprivation of oxygenand they would have to move in the midst of dangeroussharks that could end their life in a moment. It is the sameway for the Christian when he discovers the depths of theriches of His wisdom, grace, and glory. Like the pearl diver

and like Paul there is great peril. Peril in the wilderness,peril from false brethren, peril from countrymen, peril in thecity. But all such peril is ordained for the purpose of God

because it is in such peril that there comes about adependence upon His strength alone. This is how the Lordworks the riches of grace that Jesus the Son of God inheritsglory from.When the pearl diver reaches the depths, it is there hediscovers the oysters with the large pearls. A pearl comesinto existence because the oyster has suffered an agitation orwound. The oyster will secrete a substance over thewounded area that will form into a pearl; the greater thesuffering, the greater the pearl. When the pearl is brought upto the surface and brought ashore, it is immediately putunder lock and key and guards are assigned to its constant

protection until it reaches the marketplace where it isdisplayed in its glory. Oh that the church would have suchwisdom. Likewise it is only out of the depths and with greatprice that that which is glorious comes forth from before thefoundations of the world. It is the Living Word of God that

is come forth in unsearchable depths of riches to rest in andthrough those that tremble at the severity and goodness ofGod. This will produce the church that Jesus is coming for.That is truly a pearl of great price.

THE BASIS OF TRUE MINISTRYThe basis of true ministry is to make all men see that ourfellowship is in this mystery that separates blindness andapostasy from the spirits of Gods people, and joins thespirits of just men cleansed by the blood of Jesus Christ tothe revelation of themystery. There is a spiritual knowledge of this mystery. Inother ages it was hidden, but it is now made known to us bythe Holy Spirit, who has written through the holy Apostlesand Prophets, the preserved divine thought of God. Thisspiritual knowledge gives us the grace that we the wild olivebranches have been grafted into and have become fellowheirs of Gods chosen people and Gods corporate son

Israel. This writing is a display of the unsearchable riches ofHis grace and glory. May it cause all men to see thefellowship of the mystery which from before the creation ofthe world was hidden in God who created all things by Jesus

Christ. Unto Him be glory in the church both now andevermore, and may the hope of His calling inherit the richesof His grace from a people seeking the depths of such to bemanifest.
