The Security Project The timeless music of PETER GABRIEL has found new life through The Security Project. Featuring former members of Peter Gabriel Band, King Crimson, Shriekback and Sky Cries Mary, The Security Project not only recreates these masterpieces live, but gives them new musical wings for the 21st century. The reviews have been glowing: “Scary Good Show!” raves Progression Magazine after their premiere in New York City. Noted musicians also have given a thumbs up, including Tony Levin, Larry Fast (both from Gabrielʼs band) Steve Hackett (Genesis), Jon Anderson (Yes), Gabriel Mixer/Producer Tom Lord-Alge and Gabriel analyst Lilywhite Leigh. With Gabriel now a double-inductee into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame (both with Genesis as well as his solo career) The Security Project specializes in the most adventurous, often un-played, music from his first five solo albums – Car (1), Scratch (2), Melting Face (3), Security and Plays Live. Founding member Jerry Marotta says: “Peter was always great at setting the table for us as musicians; he always got us started with great ideas… As we were creating SECURITY we had no idea we were making something so unique… Iʼm proud that with Security Project weʼre able to deliver the deepest of those songs, and do it with real conviction — playing them live.” The live shows have included such gems as: “The Rhythm of the Heat”, “Intruder”, “On The Air”, “San Jacinto”, “Moribund The Burgermeister”, “Here Comes the Flood”, “No Self Control”, “I Have the Touch”, “The Family & The Fishing Net”, “Wallflower”, along with the occasional classic from “The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway”.

Brian Cummins

It all began in my hometown of Liverpool when I was a kidlistening to Gabriel with my dad. I would ask him over andover again to play the old Genesis and solo Peterrecordings. I heard something in this music that touched melike nothing else. At home, my brother and I used to 'airdrum' side by side to “The Lamb Lies Down On Broadway”and drove the family nuts! A true love affair was born withthis music and there was no stopping it.

I began playing live as a guitarist when I was twelve.Always with older guys who stretched me to play 'outside ofmy depth'. Eventually I started singing and branching outinto other areas of music – finally earning a living asmusician.

I have, since, toured all over Europe with my groupThe Carpet Crawlers and with Mick Pointer's Marillion. Additionally, I specialize in production work forgroups looking to get the vintage sounds we all love into their recordings and live shows.

When I was originally approached about The Security Project I thought it was a joke. Play with JerryMarotta and Trey Gunn? And performing some of my favorite music in the world? Come on! Once it becameclear to me this was no joke, I was on the first plane to Woodstock.

Michael Cozzi

Originally from Wales & London Cozzi's love of Prog music becamecemented when he first saw "Steve Hackett" at Brunel University inthe early 80's when he was touring "Spectral Mornings".

Cozzi got his start in the mid 80's as the guitarist for the bandShriekback which had the pleasure of touring with bands such asSimple Minds, INXS, and Peter Gabriel. He would joke with DavidRhodes of Gabriel's band that they should swap gigs.

A few albums & several tours later, it lead him to working with thelikes of, King Swamp, Shakespear's Sister, Andrew Ridgely,Lulabox and many other projects all over the globe.

Settling in Seattle with his photographer wife Karen Moskowitz inthe early 90's, Cozzi Joined the band Sky Cries Mary with whom heco wrote 5 albums and toured extensively.

During this time Cozzi opened up his recording studio MoscozziStudio where he co-wrote and produced the last two Sky Cries Maryalbums "Here and Now" and "Small Town" ( a Lou Reed favorite bythe way.) During this time he also wrote and produced music forbands, films, commercials, video games etc which let to him meeting

and working with Trey Gunn. Some time later Trey asked Cozzi if he knew of a guitarist for The SecurityProject, Cozzi put his hand up like a kid in the classroom and said "me me me"

Toad's Place – New Haven, CT, USA – Progressive Magazine's “Live Sheet” by John Wilcox

What they delivered blew me away.

A welcome trip to Gabriel's 1st solo album came in the form of the beautiful Humdrum andMoribund The Burgermeister - Gabriel's wry condemnation of disco music. I was nothing short offloored! Gabriel himself rarely performed this one in his early solo days. I could not stop smiling!

Later in the set Cummins grabbed his acoustic guitar and gave us an emotional solo acoustic MercyStreet that was achingly beautiful. Then Jameson on piano and Cummins on vocal intoned Fatherand Son from OVO just gorgeously. It touched everyone in the building.

Gabriel himself has not played a gig this essential in over 30 years. Do not miss this band!

Palais Montcalm – Quebec City, Canada – Info-Culture Quebec by Louise Vachon

Family and The Fishing Net, I Have The Touch, and Humdrum opened the show to thunderousapplause. Right away, the excitement had gripped the scene and quickly spread throughout the room.It is with conviction that the charismatic Brian Cummins lent his voice to this music. Verycomfortable on stage, he easily transmitted his passion from this music. And done so faultlesslythroughout the evening.

From the first notes of Family and The Fishing Net it was ovation after ovation. I was captivatedand mystified. Brian Cummins rendering of Mercy Street had the hair standing up on my arms.

Excellent performance of these five musicians who played, note for note, the musical masterpieceof Peter Gabriel from 1977 to 1983.

The Tralf Music Hall – Buffalo, NY, USA – The Gusto by Jeff Miers

The Security Project is an impressive lineup of respected virtuosos set out to interpret Peter Gabriel'smusic from the “Security” period. This is a daring blend of progressive, alternative and world-beatsounds married to incisive lyrical imagery. Brian Cummins, the agile singer with a range verysimilar to Gabriel’s, positively nailed his parts throughout the show, covering a broad range ofmaterial, from the keening high notes of San Jacinto to the breathy intonations of the haunting odeto poet Ann Sexton, Mercy Street.
