FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

THE SCORPIONS’ LAST STING

HOUSTON - The Scorpions will rock the world like a hurricane one last time finalizing their successful 45 yearlong music career touring across five continents beginning in their home country Germany. This last blowout tour will feature their top hits along with debuting their final album, Sting in the Tail, expected to release early this year. “While we were working on our album these past few months, we could literally feel how powerful and creative our work was – and how much fun we were still having, in the process,” said lead vocalist, Klaus Meine. “We want to end the Scorpion’s extraordinary career on a high note.” Launching the band in 1965, lead guitarist Rudolf Schenker did not realize the success to come. Throughout the ‘70s and early ‘80s, The Scorpions recorded several albums as they developed their fame throughout the music industry. It wasn’t until the 1984 album release of Love at First Sting that transformed them into rock superstars. Love at First Sting featured the hit single “Rock You Like a Hurricane,” which advanced the album in the charts, creating a double platinum success in the United States for The Scorpions. Entering the new millennium, The Scorpions gained popularity among a younger generation when “No One Like You” and “Rock You Like a Hurricane” were featured on different versions of the hit video game “Guitar Hero.” Most recently, on February 21, 2009, The Scorpions received Germany’s ECHO Honorary Award for lifetime achievement at Berlin’s O2 World. Concluding a lifelong dedication to rock music, The Scorpions final tour will end in 2012.

“It was always our pleasure, our purpose in life, our passion and we were fortunate enough to make music for you - whether it was live on stage or in the studio, creating new songs,” Schenker said. Contact: Rebecca Holden, Media Relations [email protected] 713-555-2485 # # #
