Chipmunks

With an entire week of fabulous weather, it was guaranteed that the Squirrel group would be having unlimited amounts of fun! Corbin and Noah paddled circles around everyone showing that it was not their first time in a canoe! With our theme of the week being A Blast to the Past, Bernie and William showed us their amazing dance moves during an intense game of Freeze Dance. Daisy and Myah

Squirrels

swam like fish in the pool, enjoying endless amounts of cannonballs! In an 80’s versus 90’s game of soccer, Jack and Christian were the shining stars, scoring goals to help lead their team to victory! Ashton and Austin helped their team build a fantastic Squirrel Shelter, winning the award of “Biggest Shelter.” Nash was hard to catch in a fun filled game of SPUD, which ultimately led him to be one of only a few winners.

With a 70’s themed session of tie-dye, Rowanne made a beautiful sweater that everyone couldn’t help but envy! Unfortunately the week had to end, and we are sad to see it go. Thank you to all campers for making it a fantastic week!

The Chipmunks had a groovy week while travelling through time here at Samac. Matt Russell & Matt Ricci were amazing during our soccer game. Their awesome skills lead the team to victory. Blake & Kai showed everyone how amazing they are at building shelters. With a nice front porch and sweet backyard, the shelter that they made could definitely be a summerhouse. Julia showed all of camp her wicked dance moves. She definitely was no beginner the way she popped it and locked it. Ryan impressed everyone at Canoe this week, showing new campers some of the strokes that we use for canoe. Reed got in touch with his laidback side by making a beautiful tie-dye bandana. Liam shined at Arts & Crafts showing Minnie that he knew what to do when it came to art. Scott had a blast during fire building. He helped build an amazing fire and got rewarded with delicious spider dogs. Owen showed off his swimming abilities when it came around to go swimming. The future Michael Phelps has arrived at Camp! Myles revealed his agility and endurance to everyone during the obstacle course. He zipped through the obstacles as if they were nothing! Jack did a superb job during parachute games. He was a dominant cat and sly mouse during our game of Cat & Mouse. It was a lot of fun getting retro with everyone. Hope to see you all soon and have a wonderful summer.

abstract and pop art - they looked amazing! Autumn swam and splashed her way through the decades, while Mason got stuck in the obstacle course but proved it was no match for him! Luka searched around camp for different items from each decade with our scavenger hunt. Eddie rocked his homemade fossil and found some around Camp as well! As you can tell, it was a great week here at Camp Samac with all our time travelers! We loved taking a trip through time with you all and we can't wait for what next week holds for us at Camp Samac!

Blue Jays It was a total blast travelling through time here at Camp Samac this week! We stopped by every decade and took part in so many awesome activities in just one week! Lukas loved helping out with building our shelter for when we take rest stops during our travel. Logan had a blast learning how the cavemen made fire, and Declan thought our morning hike was a fun-filled way of travelling! Cian and Chloe's favourite pit stop was in the 70s to make some groovy tie dye shirts. Aiden literally blasted through the past with his water bottle rocket ship. Ethan and Klarissa showed off their artsy side with

Raccoons It was a blast from the past with the retro Raccoons this week as we traveled through a decade a day. We entered the 60s as our very own geologists; Taylor & Julia traced the Samac wildlife through the discovery of fossils along the rocky pathways around Camp. We danced in our bellbottoms all the way to Arts & Crafts where Karly & Natalie convinced us that they were born a few decades too late as their creativity flowed while creating their handprint Pop Art. In the 70s, the Raccoons were discoing all Tuesday long. Alex showed his true colours as he helped his fellow campers create a groovy tie-dye design before he finished his own. Our Afros were growing, but Logan still managed to be the powerhouse of his Canoe, guiding his boat around Lake Samac. Rubik’s Cube was becoming a popular toy amongst the campers, but it didn’t distract Lukas from getting two home runs in a close game of Soccer Baseball giving his team the win, while Mackenzie used her survival skills to show us how to roast the perfect disco ball marshmallow. The 90s were fast approaching as Liam conquered the obstacle course and Abby was in the creek encouraging her fellow campers, finding minnows, always with a smile on her face. Just in time for Parents’ Night, Emma, who is a Boadaway veteran, helped her Counsellors teach and lead the cheer and luckily, Shannon was in the audience to give her group courage to perform their dance and helped Boadaway gain base group points during the Camp Wide Event. We’d like to thank you for an amazing week travelling through the decades and we hope that you all have a bright and sunny summer!!

This week the Bears hopped in a time machine and went on a groovy adventure! Jack excelled in the night activities and found many of the clues on the photo scavenger hunt! Zach & Laura both had an amazing time at the Camp Samac Dances and kept the energy up the whole time! Lucas loved all the activities, especially the evening campfire! Hannah never missed out on the canteen as she proved she has quite the sweet tooth. Umber was a star in the pool and

looked forward to swimming each day. Andrew loved being on Kahkawa and showed his excitement when doing tie-dye. Noah made an amazing shelter and had a fun time collecting sticks to help build it. Phoebe loved the fact that she slept over every night! Scott enjoyed the game Firefly where he flickered his flashlight. Myla was a superstar at Parents’ Night and always kept up a

great attitude. Thanks for a fantastic throwback week, Bears! Hope to see you again soon.

- Cyrus & Posh

We had such a great "Blast From The Past" week learning about past decades with all of our campers! Connor & Cameron sprinted fast around the bases of a "kicking it old school" game of soccer-baseball. Maxwell always had a blast in the swimming pool and looked forward to it every day. Meranda & Carly canoed through the waters of Lake Samac and

loved every minute of it. Liam & Aeden showed off their athletic skills and "captured the decade" in our version of Capture The Flag. Jonathan was very knowledgeable during our Nature session where we learned about fossils and endangered animals. Victoria made a beautiful scarf during our "trippy hippy" tie-dying

session. Adoria showed us how creative she was during Arts & Crafts where we made Andy Warhol inspired Pop Art. Koen & Jabari were awesome team players during our game of "psychedelic sticks." Thank you for a wonderful week at Camp and we hope you all have an amazing summer!

- Maxi & Flip

Foxes The Fox group had a groovy time at Samac this week! Mason rocked out at Nature, finding fossils from the past. Ben explored art from the past at Arts & Crafts, while Maddie & Carter paddled through the decades at Canoe. Sarah D. escaped the heat of the disco fever this week with awesome ice age water games

while Ethan & Connor cooled off in the pool! Rachel explored Samac's past on our hike and Aidan went back to the 70s by making a sweet tie-dye shirt! Miller & Sarah played an awesome game of “Capture The Time Capsule” and Ashton made a perfect golden marshmallow at

caveman fire building! Daniella was no where to be found playing camouflage in the forest while Alexis threw it back to the past by making a super cool shelter in the forest! Overall, the Fox group had a fantastic week!

Blue Herons It’s been a groovy week here at Camp Samac! We had a psychedelic time with all of our time traveling Blue Herons. Alyssa really connected with her inner-hippie and made an awesome tie-dye pillowcase. Maverick used his knot-tying skills to make a jump rope and had the jumping skills of a true 90s kid! Elle really enjoyed canoeing this week – she totally rocked at it! Jacob & Ethan took a break from discoing to play an awesome game of soccer baseball with the Raccoons. It was a sweet game! Evan really excelled at being the storyteller in our Mafia game. Tess was on the Blue team for our game of UH-OH and helped her team to victory! Tyson enjoyed searching Samac for fossils from a long time ago at Nature. Lauren enjoyed playing Hide & Seek in

the pool – she was like a little mermaid in the water! Although we didn’t have super soakers, Brody still managed to get drenched in our game of Drip-Drip-Drop. Kate got soaked and dirty in our Game In A Box. Calvin enjoyed swimming after a hectic day of travelling through time. Mathieu really got into the groove during Parents’ Night and rapped like a true Fresh Prince! Bryson really channeled his inner Andy Warhol and made some awesome Pop Art. Kiera ate some delicious candy from the canteen after a tiring 80s workout. Eric enjoyed meeting all of the new radical people at Camp, especially all of his fellow Fresh Herons!
