IMPORTANT NOTE TO PARENTS
If you are on a team or doing a project with others, is it more important to do a good job or to get praise and attention? Read 1 Corinthians 3:8, 15:58.
Can you think of someone in the Bible who gave up glory and honor to die a terrible death for sins He didn’t commit? Read Philippians 2:3-10.
What should you think about if you start getting worried or upset about things in this world? Read Colossians 3:1-3.
Which is more important: your heart, your lungs, or your brain? They’re all important, right? When we accept Jesus, we become members of His Body, and we live to serve Him. Is one member of Christ’s Body more important than another? Read 1 Corinthians 12:12-22, 27.
God created the entire universe. He knows how everything works! How are His thoughts different than ours? Read Isaiah 55:9.
Why did Chris think he deserved to be on the team at the robot championship? How would you feel if you were Chris? Read Ephesians 4:26-27, 30-32.
Why did King David want to build the Temple? Read 2 Samuel 7:1-2.
David loved to worship the Lord, so why did God stop him from building the Temple? Read 1 Chronicles 22:7-10.
After making all the plans to build the Temple, David must have been disappointed—but did he react selfishly and angrily? List some ways he helped Solomon succeed in the task. Read 1 Chronicles 22:11-19.
We may think our plans are good, but they may not actually be best. So how can we know the right thing to do or the best path to take? Read Proverbs 3:5-6.
When Solomon built the Temple, did he think it was big enough to contain God? Read 1 Kings 8:22, 27.
About 1,000 years later, Jesus shocked people by saying the Temple would be destroyed and then raised up in three days. What did He mean? Read John 2:19-21.
When we accept Jesus as our Lord and Savior, where does His Spirit live? Read 1 Corinthians 3:16 and 1 Peter 2:4-5.
Inside Solomon’s Temple was the Ark of the Covenant, containing the laws God to guide and protect His people. Did you know that God has put His law inside our temple, too? Read Psalm 119:11 and Hebrews 10:16-17.
Since we are all sinners and do bad things, how can we ever become clean enough to enter God’s holy presence? Read Hebrews 10:19-22.
HUMAN PLANS HIGHER PURPOSES GOD’S TEMPLE
PRAY Heavenly Father, remind us to pray for Your wisdom when things seem to go wrong and we can’t do what we planned. Amen.
PRAY Lord Jesus, thank You for giving up everything in heaven to come to earth and die for our sins. We praise You for rising again to give us new life! Amen.
PRAY Dear Jesus, thank You for washing us clean and filling us with Your Holy Spirit to give us Your power and wisdom. Help us live for Your glory. Amen.
