TRANSCRIPT
You must stay at once side of the subject or actor you are filming at
all times. This is done to ensure that the audience is orientated
correctly and so that the shot does not confuse the audience.
If you cross the 180 degree line then you MUST show the shot
crossing, not just cut to the other side.
This is a type of edit in which you cut back and forth between two shots so that you can see both sides of the scene. You position both cameras on the same side of the 180 degree line and then edit the
film you have to include both shots. This is used often in conversation, switching from speaker one to
speaker two as they take turns in the conversation.
This rule observes the fluidity and continuity between two shots. You have to make sure that the two shots taken follow on from each other
and are believable and realistic.
