The toilet scene Second time filming at Trinity-at-Bowes

Page 2: Pictures of filming

This day, Beatriz Arredondo was filming the scenes as Mary-Grace Vicente and Roshani Perera had filmed previous scenes. In the image above, we were experimenting with various positions that Christina Pope would stand in. We tried to situate the camera and have Christina standing somewhere where we could fit everything we wanted into the mise-en-scene.

The images above are of the most challenging part of filming the toilet scene. This is because we had to include Maria Ngoma ,Mario Tofaris and Christina Pope in the mise-en-scene without changing the position that Christina was initially standing in as this would reflect a bad transition. It therefore took us a while to figure out which sides each of the actors (Maria and Mario) should stand.

Additional ideas for scenesFilmed at Trinity-at-Bowes

Page 6: Pictures of filming

Our idea at first was to film the scene of Christina Pope running out into the corridor and being surrounded by a crowd. This meant that we needed a corridor to film her in. However, the corridors at Trinity-at-Bowes had built in sensors which meant that every time somebody walked past, the lights would automatically come one. As a result, we were unable to film this scene because we needed a dark atmosphere.

Because of the limited time that we had to complete our movie opening, we improvised and used a spare room and attempted to create a corridor like setting. However, this was unsuccessful which is why we created the lift scene.

Here, Mary-Grace Vicente was figuring out whether the actors would be visible if they were filmed in the lift and we were experimenting with tripod lengths, camera angles and so on.

These are further images of us experimenting with camera shots and angles as we had only thought of this scene after we got to Trinity-at-Bowes because we were unaware that they had a lift.

Trinity-at-Bowes allowed us to film on their premises on one conditions; that we filmed their music concert. We agreed to this condition as we needed a place to film as soon as possible. We therefore did as promised and filmed their music concert. The images above are of Beatriz Arredondo (left) and Roshani Perera (right) filming. Mary-Grace Vicente was unable to attend as she had work and wasn’t able to take a day of.It was a great opportunity for us to experience using a different type of camera and a tripod that was much longer in length than the one we had been using to film our movie opening.

On the day of the music concert, we were both given t-shirts to wear during the event so that we can be identified as staff. The rest of the people that were working on that day also had to wear t-shirts with the same logo.
