(Rev 21:5) And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he

said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.

(Rev 21:6) And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of

the fountain of the water of life freely.

(Rev 21:7) He that overcometh shall inherit all things; and I will be his God, and

he shall be my son.

Rev. 22:6-21

A. Holding

this book in high

regards

(Rev 22:6) And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the

Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which

must shortly be done.

(Rev 22:18-19) For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the

prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add

unto him the plagues that are written in this book: And if any man shall take away

from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city,

and from the things which are written in this book.

NOTES

Notice it use the term “words” of God

(Rev 22:9) …keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

(Rev 22:10) …Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book…

(Gen 3:2-3) And the woman said unto the serpent, We may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden: But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst

of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye

touch it, lest ye die.

(Gen 2:16-17) And the LORD God commanded the man, saying, Of

every tree of the garden thou mayest freely eat: But of the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, thou

shalt not eat of it: for in the day that thou eatest thereof thou

shalt surely die.

(Psa 12:6) The words of the LORD are pure words: as silver tried in a

furnace of earth, purified seven times.

(Pro 30:5) Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that

put their trust in him.

(Psa 119:140) Thy word is very pure: therefore thy servant loveth it.

NOTES

This set of verses are used to try to prove that you can lose your salvation.

And they are right! In another dispensation. This book is not just for the Church age. But is also intended for those in the Tribulation.

And during that time they don’t get saved like we do in this age. Remember Matt. 24 says that they must endure to the end.

B. Looking for the

Return of Christ

(Rev 22:7) Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings

of the prophecy of this book.

(Rev 22:12) And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work

shall be.

(Rev 22:20) He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly.

Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

(Php 3:20) For our conversation is in heaven; from whence also we look

for the Saviour, the Lord Jesus Christ:

(1Th 1:10) And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from

the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.

(1Th 4:17) Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up

together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall

we ever be with the Lord.

(1Jn 2:28) And now, little children, abide in him; that, when he shall appear, we may have confidence, and not be ashamed before him

at his coming.

(1Th 3:13) To the end he may stablish your hearts unblameable in

holiness before God, even our Father, at the coming of our Lord

Jesus Christ with all his saints.

C. Doing the Word of God

(Rev 22:7) Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the

sayings of the prophecy of this book.

(Rev 22:14-15) Blessed are they that do his commandments, that

they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and

whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

(1Jn 2:3-4) And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. He that saith, I

know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth

is not in him.

(Jas 1:22-24) But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. For if any be a hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like unto a man beholding his natural face in a glass: For he beholdeth himself, and goeth his way, and straightway

forgetteth what manner of man he was.

(1Jn 3:23) And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son

Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

(1Jn 3:24) And he that keepeth his commandments dwelleth in him,

and he in him. And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the

Spirit which he hath given us.

D. Worshiping

the right one

(Rev 22:8) And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these

things.

(Rev 22:9) Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy

fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

D. Worshiping

the right one

(Rev 22:8) And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these

things.

(Rev 22:9) Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy

fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

(3Jn 1:9) I wrote unto the church: but Diotrephes, who loveth to have the

preeminence among them, receiveth us not.

(Act 20:28-30) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath

made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood. For I know this, that after my departing shall grievous

wolves enter in among you, not sparing the flock. Also of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, to

draw away disciples after them.

E. Sharing the truth that has

been revealed

(Rev 22:10) And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the

prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

(Rev 22:17) And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

F. Working for the

reward to come

(Rev 22:12) And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall

be.

(Mat 16:27) For the Son of man shall come in the glory of his Father with his angels; and then he shall reward every

man according to his works.

(1Co 3:13-15) Every man's work shall be made manifest: for the day shall

declare it, because it shall be revealed by fire; and the fire shall try every

man's work of what sort it is. If any man's work abide which he hath built thereupon, he shall receive a reward. If any man's work shall be burned, he

shall suffer loss: but he himself shall be saved; yet so as by fire.

G. Praying for the

return of Christ

(Rev 22:20) He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

(Rev 22:21) The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you

all. Amen.

(Mat 6:8) Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what

things ye have need of, before ye ask him.

(Mat 6:9) After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name.

(Mat 6:10) Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in heaven.
