2012 - Toyota joins the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) race.

2014 - Toyota wins the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), leading to improvements in its hybrid powertrain.

2015 - Toyota officially renames its motorsport division as TOYOTA GAZOO Racing (TGR), further strengthening its commitment to producing ever-better cars.

2017 - TGR returns to the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), pushing their cars with even greater levels of engineering.

- TGR Festival emerges as a series of 4 races that take place throughout Peninsular Malaysia. TGR also debuts homegrown Malaysian racing drivers in their races. The main event of the TGR Festival is the Vios Challenge in which contestants go head to head racing in specially modified Toyota Vios race cars.

2018 - TGR wins the FIA World Rally Championship (WRC), the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC), and the 24 Hours of Le Mans.

2019 - TGR wins the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans again.

2020 - TGR wins the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC) and the 24 Hours of Le Mans for the 3rd consecutive time.

The world was first introduced to GAZOO Racing in 2007 when a

modest racing team made up of employees from Toyota competed in the

24 Hours Nürburgring, and successfully completed the race using two used Altezzas.

Their inspiring determination and passion became the TGR spirit of “pushing the limits” and paved the

way to further success for GAZOO Racing and Toyota.

Since then, Toyota has participated in multiple large-scale races in the name of development and innovation.
