7 Things Social Media does for your business
Facebook Competitions and PromotionsThe new design of
Facebook Timeline not only allows the creation of visually stimulating, content driven news
feed but also the ability to generate
competitions and promotions that make
a significant impact on your businneses visibility.
This joint competitionwas set up between
Stepping Up Menswear andAbbey Beach resort.
The competition was so successful, Stepping Up increased
their Facebook audience by over 200%.
Facebook FeaturesThere are a number of rules governing the running of Facebook Competitions. These arerules on how you can run and promote your competition.
The Cover Shot. This appears at the top of your timeline. It is a high impact graphic. Youare not allowed to promote the competition from this graphic, although we do makesubtle reference to the competition from here.Wall Posts. These are the best way to promote your competition. They appear in thenews feeds of people who are already engaged with you. This allows the potential foryour followers to share this content with their friends. Re-posting through outthe month using original graphics can help drive attention towards your competition. The Landing Page. This page appears ‘behind’ your timeline. A common mistake people make when running a competition is to allow entry to the competition by hitting the ‘Like’button from the timeline. THIS IS NOT ALLOWED. The user must be directed to a ‘Landing Page’ where they are given a full description of the competition. From here they can decide whether to click through and enter. The Fan Page. This is the launching pad for your competition. This is where people ‘Click to Enter’Competition Hosting. All Facebook competitions must be hosted by a 3rd party. Thisis where all the competition entry information is stored. At PR Direct we host allcompetitions on a 3rd party website.Competition Entry Page. These pages are hosted on a seperate website, although theyhave the feel of the competition. These pages allow you to collect all the entry information.
Two local businesses have recently run campaigns with great success.
