The Portal
Bullying is
something very sad and bad
that happens mostly at
schools in North America. It
is when a student from
upper grades annoys a
younger student, or it can
even be a student his age.
They say mean things, for
example “Give me your
lunch money!” When they
say it, they really mean it.
Bullying has big
consequences. One of them
is that if the kid or teen
continues on bullying, their
mom can go to jail or be
accused by the police of not
educating her kid.
How does bullying affect
victims lives?
It affects their lives
in many ways. You may think

Roberto Matta- Portrait of a Chilean Artist
Roberto AntonioSebastián MattaEchaurren, better known as Roberto Matta, wasone of Chile's best-known painters and ainfluential figures in20th century abstract
expressionist, andsurrealist art.He was born in
November 11,1911 inSantiago and died inNovember 23,2002when he was 91 yearsold. His travels inEurope and the USA ledhim to meet artists suchas Arshile Gorky, RenéMagritte, Salvador Dalí ,André Breton, and Le
Corbusier. RobertoMatta was of Spanish,Basque and French descent. Heproduced illustrationsand articles forSurrealist journals suchas Minotaure. During
this period, he wasintroduced to the workof man prominentcontemporary Europeanartists, such as PabloPicasso, and MarcelDuchamp.
The first trueflowering of Roberto'sown art came in 1938,when he moved fromdrawing to oil painting
for which he is best
known.

whole class was going on
about Earth Day, and
maybe you even had
homework about it. Here
are some facts:
Earth day started
on April 22, 1970. It is a
day when you take care
of the environment and
you help the earth.
In our school we
celebrate it by decorating
our classroom doors with

began his professional
career with the Chilean
club Cobreloa. He scored
his first goal with Colo-
Colo in the Copa
Sudamericana 2006
against the Liga
Deportiva Alajuelense on,
October 10th, 2006 in

On March 12th,
2007 Alexis hurt his toe
and there was a lot of
worry that Alexis career
may be over. On March
20th, 2007 Alexis made an
amazing recovery from
his bad toe and scored a
goal in a Copa

the increase of
temperature of the
Earth’s atmosphere. It
started in the 1920’s and
has been getting worse
ever since.
It is mainly
caused by the releasing
of greenhouse gas from
factories. So far it has
caused near extinction to

to us, because if global
warming kills more
trees there are less

-1 rectangle hard carton 25x30
-paint -silicone-string -black marker
-glitter -stapler
1.Put the cork on top of the carton,
then trace the shape of it onto thecarton .
2. Paint around the rectangle and
leave it to dry.
