Machu Picchu

Machu Picchu is about 50 miles across the Andes Mountains. The capital of Machu Picchu is Cusco. It was home to the Incas. The construction began after 1438. Although the Spanish began their conquest in 1532.

Soccer

Latin Americans call soccer futbol. Soccer ranks as the most popular sport in Peru. Some Peruvians also like Basketball, Volleyball, and Bullfights.

Farming

Many farm families own a small plot of land for farming and its enough room for a hole year. Just like the Incas they use the hillsides of the Andes Mountains. Most of their food comes from the Andes Mountains.

Roman Catholic

Our religion is Roman Catholic. This was created by the native Americans. They combined Catholic and traditional religious believes.

The arts

The Incas were expert architects. Their artistic traditions take back nearly 3,000 years ago. Also, Peru’s indigenous people still practice these arts and crafts. It is very important to the Peruvian culture.
