What is The Pain in the Mass Tour? The Pain in the Mass Tour, according to cyclist who participated in our 2013 beta ride, is the toughest organized cycling race in Massachu-setts. It is a two-day ride designed to challenge cyclists to push beyond their personal thresholds while helping an amazing cause. This ride is unique because it combines Team Racing & General Rider classes as well as climbs up mountains, in one event.

The first day of the event is a century ride with a climb up Mount Wachussett, while the second day is more challenging with a 60 mile ride and a climb up Mount Greylock. General Riders will have the option to chose between riding both days or just riding day one, while teams sign up for both days.

What is The Home Away Fund? The Home Away Fund is a program within the Tyler Foundation that focuses on improving the quality of the family’s lives while caring for their child with epilepsy at Boston Children’s Hospital and UMass Memorial Children’s Medical Center.

At the drop of a moment, a child with epilepsy could be rushed to the hospital for tests and procedures that could keep them and their par-ents there for extended periods of time. The goal of the Home Away Fund is to provide these family’s with items to make their stay bet-ter and easier. We supply both hospital wings with “sign-out” items for the kids and parents to bring back to their rooms. These items include, but are not limited to: a large selection of current movies for both kids and the parents, technology devices such as iPads, Leap-Pads, nooks, kindles, and hand held games. We continually provide personal care items to the families, such as: soap, dental products, hair detangler for after EEGs, laundry detergent, and other necessary items that are often forgotten when packing in an emergency.
