THE ORACLE A WEEKLY NEWSLETTER FOR PARENTS AND FAMI LIES OF
Issue 30, Week of April 29 – May 5
GRANDFRIENDS MAY DAY: THIS FRIDAY! May Day is just a few days away! We’ve eagerly anticipated this annual celebration of spring, friends and family! Arrive promptly – you won’t want to miss a morning filled with memory-making and celebratory displays of student talent. Expect to see student artwork, drama enactments, choral performances, and of course, dance. The schedule is as follows:
8:30 am Opening session and performances
9:15 am Classroom visitation
10:30 am May Day performances Plenty of time will be allotted to interact with faculty, students and others while enjoying light refreshments as well. Our book fair will be open throughout the morning, and there will be plenty of opportunities to purchase spirit wear and collect literature on The Burlington School’s academic, artistic and athletic performance in our inaugural year.
In preparation for this special day, please note the following:
We advise that all guests attending May Day back into their parking spaces – this makes for a swifter and safer exit when all parties dismiss from the morning’s festivities!
o Guests with special needs should park in the front lot; families should park in the side lot – once parking spaces on campus are full, cars may be parked along the street.
Pay special attention to the TV display and prompts from teachers and administrative guides to attend each portion of the program in a timely fashion.
Revisit the main TV display for announcements on where and when to move between locations.

PROM: A NIGHT TO REMEMBER
TBS Upper School Students thoroughly enjoyed their prom at The Alamance Country Club on April 23rd. We’re glad they had a spectacular time with their peers! (Photo on left courtesy of Donna Pittman.)
WE ARE… Family.
Talented. Smart.
TBS Community Life Facilitator Leslie Blank has initiated a community building initiative with Middle
School students this spring which continues to yield impressive results. Students contribute their
creativity to the mosaic of positivity on the Middle School hallway daily offering words of encouragement and praise to their peers as they define who they are as a unit. Talk to your student today
about what words they think best represent TBS culture!
