Happy Independence Day! Summer is here and with it lots of activities and opportunities for connecting with people. You will see people of all ages participating in fun ways to recreate on this campus this summer and we hope you take the opportunity to enjoy something new! One of the new opportunities is Chelsea Community Center Summer Days. The Senior Center is collaborating with many community partners including Chelsea Community Education, Community Center Exploratory Committee, 4-H program, Chelsea District Library, and many local businesses, to provide intergenerational opportuni-ties for community members of all ages. Many senior center members are sharing their time and talents to make this happen. Each Wednesday a member of our pickleball group is teaching basic pickleball instruction. A volunteer from our ukulele group is leading a ukulele “try it” several times over the summer. A member who loves making stained glass pieces is sharing her expertise with several hands-on projects. We are adding new opportunities each week so stay tuned! Community Center Summer Days runs Monday through Friday, from 2-5 pm until August 17 in this building. A membership is $50/individual or $100/household and is good for the entire nine weeks. So you can come enjoy activities each and every day or as your schedule permits.
